Date format: year/month/day 2006/06/12 Added a review of the Easy Company M16 themold magazines, under the "Equipment" section. 2006/05/17 Updated the Classic Army CA249 MKII review and added several new models to the Classic Army AEG section and created profiles for all. Also, there will be no SPC review because I basically built one entirely from aftermarket parts (at great cost) a few months ago. I can't say what my next airsoft toy will be, but maybe I can convince my local shop to loan me a few new releases to review for the site. 2005/11/07 Added a review of the Classic Army SLR105 A1. I believe this is the first full review of the SLR to be posted on the internet (not to boast or anything). And I lied about the SPC, it's my next buy after the SLR (hopefully). 2005/10/19 New review of the Classic Army CA249 MKII, and updated the Tokyo Marui M733 review. I've got a few Classic Army profiles to do, and maybe a review of an SPC sometime in the future (it's my next AEG to buy). 2005/08/10 New review of the First Factory M-16 box magazine. It's the big 5000 round cube, and it's a damn good box mag. Review available under the "Equipment" section. 2005/07/02 Added a review of the Classic Army M15A4 rifle. It gets a high recommendation. I've added some of the AEGs Classic Army will be releasing in the future, such as the G36s and CA249 series. I've got a lot more work to do, and KSC keeps releasing variants of their product line, and forget keeping up with Western Arms anymore, I can't tell the difference between one .45 pistol and another. I've added to the glossary as well, more general military terms and a few airsoft-related ones. 2005/04/09 Being true to my no bullshit reviews, I've added a review of the Classic Army electric winding C-Magazine, and I've updated the G&P standards review with MP5 mag observations. I'll also be updating the M733 review soon and adding a review for all the parts to my recently upgraded M733. 2005/02/24 Updated the Tokyo Marui G36C review (it's been sold, so it's any complaints I ever had). I'd like to do a MP5K review, but it's really similar to the MP5K-PDW. Besides that, I'm upgrading my M733, so there may be a whole lot of reviews for various aftermarket parts in the future. 2005/01/17 Updated most of the "Return to" links at the bottom of each page. It didn't make much sense having two or three lines of links on each airsoft model page, so I simply multi-linked a single line so you return to a specific previous page depending on what text you click on. I did most of the AEGs and KSC's gas pistols, as well as some other miscellaneous pages, but I'll get the rest at a later time. I have some reviews to post as well. I also updated KSC's gas pistols with some new additions: a straight frame Glock 18C, a full heavy weight Glock 34, a new version of the Auto 9, and a new 2005 hardkick Mk23. 2004/12/06 Added profile information for Marui's upcoming Glock 18C AEG. More details as they are announced. That is all. 2004/12/02 Release date for the Tokyo Marui's Glock 18C automatic electric pistol set for December 15th. Also created profile for the M4 S-System, and added several gas pistols that are in the works at Tokyo Marui. 2004/11/25 Added the Boys series of AEGs, and changed real steel information for M4A1 and M733 from the Tokyo Marui manuals to official data taken from Colt's website. I recently bought a MP5K, but I don't quite have the enthusiasm to review it right now. It's mostly the same thing as the MP5K-PDW, just without the stock, front sling loop and threaded muzzle. I also updated the G&G AEG list with the newest releases and limited information profiles for all G&G AEGs. 2004/10/19 Added what I think is a complete list of Tanaka gas pistols. I basically copied everything listed at Wargame Club Shop, since Tanaka lacks a website of its own. It's a long list, longer than KSC even. I know Tanaka produces some gas rifles as well, those will come later. I'd like to finish off gas pistols with Maruzen and Marushin first. 2004/10/18 Added a review for G&P standard magazines, a.k.a. mid-caps. Yeah, all of 'em. I own my fair share, and I assume they all function the same, so the review is meant to cover them all. The review can be found under the, "equipment" section. 2004/10/17 Added the rest of the ICS non-MP5 AEGs, and did the Classic Army M24 SOCOM sniper rifles and moved them to the springer section. Also added a listing for G&G, G&P and Systema AEGs. Limited info profiles following. 2004/10/13 I've hobbled together a quick page containing only airsoft model profiles with reviews. I'm not at all happy with it, but it will do for now. I've just announced my website on the NEASG forums, and I want everybody to see the real meat of the site, the reviews. I've really got to get a more complete list of Western Arms' model line, but so much of their stuff is limited edition this or slightly different model that, combined with the SCW section of the company, and 90% of the inventory is either a Colt .45 variant or a Beretta. It will be a chore. 2004/10/12 I just realized I made a mistake. Two of the KSC M93R series were model pistols, not airsoft pistols. I noticed this when I was about to begin on the Colt Mk-V series revolvers, and remembered I never saw KSC revolvers for sale anywhere. Thinking they might be discontinued, I translated some of KSC's website, and sure enough, their Colt revolvers and two versions of the Beretta M93R were "Model Guns," loading fake cartridges into realistic magazines and were completely unable to fire anything, nevermind 6mm BBs. So I added these two series of models to the, "Other airsoft model" section. I knew that section would come in handy. I was going to do profiles for the Colt Mk-V's, but if their merely models of guns, to hell with it then. On an useful note, I added the KSC gas-powered machine pistols; the M11 and Steyr SPP and TMP. 2004/10/11 Finished all the KSC STI series, and did most of the Tokyo Marui gas pistols. I should really come up with a list of Maruzen and Marushin gas models, but I get the feeling they will be a big pain in the ass to compile. 2004/10/10 Added Mk23s and M945s. Modified profiles to include variation (such as color or version) and build material (usually either ABS or heavy weight). Just the STIs and the various machine pistols remain. Onto the next manufacturer then. Probably get Tokyo Marui out of the way, then move to Western Arms. 2004/10/09 Was finally able to get those KSC M92 and M9 Berettas up. Also added the selective-fire M93R series Berettas. Just the Mk23s, M945s and the STI series left to do. 2004/10/08 Added KSC SIG-Sauer gas pistols, SIG Pros and P230/232 series. I'll do the Beretta M92 series as soon the Beretta's website starts working properly for me. 2004/10/07 Added basic information for KSC Glocks, Cz75s, M8000 Cougars and the USP Compact. I'll get to the rest at a later time. Finally finished adding "return to" links on all airsoft model pages, so you can easily get back to any previous page from the page you are currently on (although I'm sure most visitors use the "back" button on their browser instead). Also linked to a page I made some time ago with the actual meanings (as best I understand them) to the infamous "airsoft hand signals," found in the Articles & Discussion section. 2004/10/05 Huge reorganization of AEG and gas models by company and model series. Lost the complete lists (saved over them accidentally), but I may redo them in the future. 2004/10/04 Fixed errors in KSC's gas pistols (should be mostly complete now), and added a ton of Western Arms and WA Shibuya Custom Works gas pistols. Also added a new glossary to the index page, full of common airsoft terms. I think I need to organize airsoft models by type, then by manufacturer. I'll work on a new layout later. 2004/10/03 Added most of KSC's line of gas-operated airsoft models. There are more, but they're not listed on KSC's website. I'm very limited in what I can translate, so forgive any errors that you may see. Also added a preliminary review of the Tokyo Marui MP5K-PDW. I have not used this AEG in the field yet, but when I do, I will expand upon the current review. 2004/09/29 Finished all of Classic Army's AEG line and ICS MP5 models. Added a few more links, and fixed page titles. I will work on KSC's gas pistol line next. 2004/09/28 Worked on the index page, dividing up the airsoft models into different sections, depending on operation (electric, gas, spring), and made some crap graphics for the top of each respective page. Added a FAQ and Links section. Could announce the site now, but there a few things I want to complete just yet. I want some profiles of the Classic Army and ICS AEGs, because right now I'm all Tokyo Marui. I'd also like to list some more gas models, if only to show what's available even if no information is given just yet. 2004/09/27 The first version of the new, "Airsoft Model Database." I had wanted to call it the, "Airsoft Weapon Database," but I decided it is not a good idea for airsoft models to be labelled 'weapons,' that is, unless you want government legislating on them. Not quite as catchy, but hey. Anyway, please note the site has not officially launched at this time, but it's getting there, and I'm reasonably happy with the layout. It's not at all different from the scores of other webpages I've done (visit the "Links" section for that), but it's clean and efficient and hopefully will run well without Geocities shutting it down too often because of limited bandwidth. I do prefer text to graphics for that very reason. Content holds greater weight than pretty pictures in my opinion. This website will mostly be general information and reviews. I'll be doing the reviews, but if you want to submit something to contribute to the site, please do so. I'll look it over and decide if its up to par with the type of content I'd like to have on this site. Quality counts. Besides reviews, I'll post my thoughts on airsoft model selection, gear solutions, and various theories and tests that I happen to think of and carry out. I'm not much of an upgrade guy, but I am a gear nut, always looking for the next thing that will make my setup all the more efficient. I'll give a lot of tips and my views relating to that. So, I'll update with the latest changes here, and I'll continue working on the organization of this site until it is launched. These updates are mostly archival, just so we can track progress. Speaking of which, the site is several months older than this update. I believe I started sometime in February, with my first airsoft model, the Tokyo Marui Beta-Spetsnaz. Excuse the inexperience of that review, it was my first and I'd only been playing airsoft for a month. I think if I had to rewrite it, I'd be far more critical since I know a fair bit about airsoft now that I've been doing it for some time. Moving on, the site did nothing for a few months, but with a burst of enthusiam for website construction, I got to work on it again. And here we are, able to be open but delaying until I'm 100% sure I'm satisfied with what I have completed thus far. A few tweaks and some rearranging, and I'll be on the road to a public announcement of the launch of the, "Airsoft Model Database." If you do run across this site this early, please look around at the sparse reviews scattered about and enjoy your stay. |
