Jessica Alba stars as Max, a genetically-enhanced human prototype hunted by her former military handlers, a group called "Manticore", through the underground street life of 21st Century America. Max is aided in her quest (to avoid capture and reunite with her bar-coded "siblings", scattered for years after their escape) - by Logan Cale, an idealistic cyber-journalist battling repression and corruption in post-apocalypse Seattle. He hacks into the television system with an underground streaming video news show, "Eyes Only". (Reminds me of the Lo-Techs' news messages in "Johnny Mnemonic"). (Logan meets Max when she attempts to break into his house, and kind of falls for her in a big way, though he never mentions it.)

Max works for a bicycle-messenger service called Jam Pony, with a colorful cast of characters. Even though Max should keep on the move, and get the hell out of Seattle, as recommended by Zack, her "brother", she doesn't. She wants to keep her circle of friends- the only true family she's ever had. My fav of her good friends is Original Cindy, who has never met a man with a thing she needs! She hangs with her homegirls, and is fiercely loyal to her friends, and she can talk some trash!

Alternately dark, moving, funny and irreverent, Max and Logan's odyssey leads them closer to the secret of her past, deepening and complicating their relationship in the process....In the episode "Out", Max gives Logan a transfusion (she is a universal donor and his type is rare) and afterwards, he seems to be getting some improvement in his paralized legs. The show keeps getting better every week.

**note from Camarila: I think Logan and Max look great together, and her "brother" Zack is a total "bar-code" doll! Great chemistry and scripts, and all the characters are such.....CHARACTERS!! I'm totally hooked on the show, and will keep this page current.
