Gillespie Ranch on May 22, 2004
Today’s launch was lightly attended. Only six people came, with a total of 20 flights.
Motor range was A to G, heavily leaning toward the lower end due to the wind.

Highlights of the day were Stuart Young’s Mercury Redstone complete with realistic water landing for the capsule section.
Paul Mazel had a nice and (thankfully) heavy scratch built 3” transition to 2” called the Interceptor, which he flew on a G80. Luckily the 7 second delay turned out to be more like 3, as the parachute ejected at apogee (can you say lawn dart with the 7 second delay?).
The day ended with Tim Reidy’s 2.27X Upscale Mars snooper. Very straight flight, with a minor tube crinkle on landing (should have used the heavier motor mount tube). All in all a successful day, although Juan Bazan lost 2 rockets due to the “Tim Taylor Syndrome” (More power!!!)
