Cheeky Charlie's (Hsin Le Street, #75. Phone - (07) 531-5537) is where Kaohsiung's English teachers go to unwind. Friendly waitstaff, reasonable prices, and happy hour is 6:30 to 9:00.
Another excellent place is The Pig and Whistle (Sz Wei 4th Road, #199. Phone - (07) 330-1006). Western food and alcohol in a British-style pub. Wednesday night is Ladies Night.

Bagel Bagel (Lin Sen Road, #33. Phone - (07) 201-5556) is very popular with foreigners in Kaohsiung. They have bagels, sandwiches, spaghetti, and salads.
Superb Italian food can be consumed at Mamamia (Chong Cheng 2nd Road, #186). A terrific restaurant.
