The first season introduced us to
the following characters:
  Ally McBeal is
the main character of this show, she is a lawyer with an
inclination to hallucinate!! She works at the same firm
as her old boyfriend Billy (who´s married), and they
aren´t sure about their feelings for each other...This
plus the relationship between all the lawyers at the firm
(frecuently at the unisex bathroom) will give Ally lots
of worries.
Billy Thomas is
Ally´s ex-boyfriend, happily married to Georgia but
still in love with Ally..He is currently working in
Cage/Fish Associates.
Georgia Thomas is
Billy´s wife and she is friends with Ally, but it´s her
rival in love. She is a lawyer, too, and works at the
same firm.
 
Richard Fish is
Ally´s money-faced boss. He has a wattle fetish
obsession, and his only intention is earning and winning
money, and having a relationship based in sex. He always
uses aphorisms, and he´s known for saying..
Bygones.
Elaine Vassal,
is the secretary who´s constantly poking her nose into
other people´s business and annoying Ally.
She is always inventing things, like the
face bra, the husband cd and many more.
Renee Radick is
Ally´s best friend and roomate. She works at a different
firm a s a District Attorney.
Renee always helps Ally and makes her come
back to the reality.
John Cage, known
as “The Biscuit”, is the strangest person at
the firm (that´s why he gets along really good with
Ally). He is the co-founder of Cage/Fish Associates. He
is remembered for his smiling therapy, for his
“poughkeepise” and for having a frog named
Stephan.
Vonda Shepard is
the singer, who´s featured mostly at the end of the show
when  everyone is at
the bar. She is know for singing most of the songs at the
show, but basically for “Searchin´my soul”
(the one at the beggining of it).
And the second season introduced to two
new characters :
Nelle Porter is
the newest associate employed by Fish, and she is know
for her blond locks that even Ally is jealous of, and
that she uses when she is not able to win a case with her
impressive
Ling Woo is
never happy , she is disliked by Ally, Georgia, Elaine
and Billy. Her only and best friend is Nelle and she has
the habit of sueing people. She is currently Richard´s
girlfriend.
At the end of the third season we lost
Billy, but we were introduced to a new character:
 Mark Albert which is a new lawyer working
at the firm, he feels atractted to Ally and at first he
ain't getting along well with the people there. After a
while he'll friends with everyone and he'll start going
out with Elaine.
The fouth season brought a new hope for
Ally.
It's called Larry
Paul, he's a lawyer with a child and an ex-girlfriend
that bring trouble into Ally's life, but he's perfect and
he is Ally's boyfriend... maybe the love of her life ? ;)
They are appear as guest stars on the 4
season :)
Melanie West Appeared as a guest star in lots
of episodes, she was John's girlfriend and he even asked
her to marry him...Unfortunately it didn't work out.
Jackson was Ling's lover a long time ago, but
he starts working @ the firm just to see her again. At
first he starts going out with Renee but he'll find out
he's still in love with Ling.
