Spare lenses compartment
This is an original German WW2 gas mask can that I received with rust, pitting and possibly a post-war repaint.  It's overall in excellent and servicable condition.  It's marked FNZ 43 on the latch and embossed a letter "D" at the bottom centre.  No other markings or stamps were found.  I sanded the entire gas mask of whatever rust that could be removed and covered some small depressions with putty.  Then it was 2 layers of primer and 2 layers of Dark Green paint and there it was....brought back from the dead!  MEHT.  Rttf.
