Singapore war years
The group had the rare opportunity to do a big scale display at this year's Asian Children's Festival 2004 held at the Singapore Expo at Changi. This display at Expo is just a small part of the entire festival which is stretched over a period of 2 months with lots of Arts performances, storytelling, heirtage learning etc over the whole of Singapore.

We went as part of the Reflections at Bukit Chandu display and set up our always well received WW2 Japanese items display.

Among the other displays were an insight into the ancient King Ottoman's Empire of Turkey and old childhood games of the 1960's...Think my dad probably had fun then! =-p

The pictures will speak for themselves. Enjoy!

The team (Alvin and Andreas) posing with the items on display on the first day of the event.  The acquisition of the Gas Mask added lots of interest to the primary students who thought it was an alien from outerspace.  The long awaited restored Japanese helmet finally made it's appearance!
School students who were at the event taking a picture with a "Japanese soldier".  Well, it was actually Alvin.
We had the warm pleasure of having the Guest of Honour, DR AMY KHOR ( Mayor, South West District ) of Hong Kah GRC Constituency gracing our display along with lots of photographers following suit!!!
I am pretty sure that Dr Khor gazed at the team's WW2 Japanese items display for a rather long period of time
Alvin gave Dr Amy Khor a brief explanation of the items on display and Dr Khor mentioned that it was very educational and was surprised that such a collection was present in Singapore!
Andreas and Alvin stiking a pose for the camera...The boards behind documents the timeline of events that occured at Bukit Chandu during WW2.

Once again, SYONAN REFLECTIONS has done itself proudly at the Asian Children's Festival 2004!!!!
