Here we have a beautiful reproduction Japanese Liner which I bought from Prairie Flower Leather Company.

It's made of leather and as for the marking, "16" denotes 16 years since the Meiji revolution in1925,
therefore, 16+25=1941 the year the Japanese
attacked Pearl harbour.

The 2 kanji letters is the Japanese year named after
the emperor.

You can also see the white cotton packet on the last picture which was present in each of the 3 liner flaps for comfort.
Seen here is a set of reproduction metal star to be placed on the front of the shell and 2 split pins to secure the liner.

The 3 " O " rings seen are for attaching the chinstrap...

I also got these from the
Prairie Flower Leather Company.  These guys are great!
