Thought of the Day:
The great thing about being honest is that you don't have to remember what you said to whom.
- From an Earthlink e-mail
Timesaver Tip of the Day:
Learn to say "no". If you find yourself saying "yes" to every request, remind yourself that you're saying "no" to things you need to do for yourself. Say something like, "I'd love to help, but my schedule is pretty full right now".

Dollar Saver of the Day:

Well, I was waiting for Sunday Brunch to post questions, and since it's now Monday, apparently there are no questions this week. Other memes I have participated in like Saturday Senses, Theme Thursday, and Friday Five are either on extended break or do not exist any longer. I guess it's time to stop relying on memes for writing ideas and just write.

That got me wondering what the heck is a "meme", and why are they called memes anyhow? According to the American Heritage Dictionary, a meme is "A unit of cultural information, such as a cultural practice or idea, that is transmitted verbally or by repeated action from one mind to another". I see, in the infancy stage, it starts out with just a few responders, and eventually it spreads, and once the meme gets popular, it has the potential to be in 100's of journal entries all on the same day. The same questions with different answers posted all over the internet.

But anyhow, back to life in my world. Last weekend we saw Paycheck with Ben Aflick and Uma Thurman. I absolutely loved this movie. Have you seen it? I definitely recommend it. A thought provoking movie with a little drama, a little mystery, a little sci-fi, a little romance. Ben Aflick plays a character who does secret work for a large paycheck. The only catch is that his memory must be erased. After his last job he finds out he has forfeited his $90 million dollar paycheck for an envelope of clues he sent to himself prior to his mind being erased. I would tell you more, but you have to watch it to appreciate it. Besides, if you knew what was going to happen, you would lose the anticipation in this action packed story.
Actually, the week was pretty uneventful. The yard sale was fun, but tiring. I was all set to say no more yard sales this year, but I have a couple more people interested in helping, so I may have one in early September. (depending on the weather, of course.) The weather has been cloudy and rainy for the most part this summer. It's like we skipped summer and went right into fall. I've even seen leaves on the trees that were turning red and yellow already, and Canadian geese headed south. Yesterday was mostly sunny, but a little cool for August.
But, anyhow, that's it for tonight. Take care and have a good week!
Thanks for reading!
