Thought of the day:
Life is a series of experiences, each one of which makes us bigger, even though it is hard to realize this. For the world was built to develop character, and we must learn that the setbacks and griefs which we endure help us in our marching onward.
- Henry Ford

You have just won one million dollars:

1. Who do you call first?

My sisters. They have provided me the most emotional support during my troubled times, and they would be thrilled to know that their prayers and positive thoughts have paid off.

2. What is the first thing you buy for yourself?

If I won a million dollars today, the first thing I would buy is a haircut. I keep putting it off due to lack of funds, and it's way out of control. The first big ticket item I would buy is a house on a large parcel of land in the country.

3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else?

A reliable vehicle for John. His car is in need of a new transmission, so he's been driving mine.

4. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom?

I would give some away to family and friends that really needed it.

5. Do you invest any? If so, how?

I would invest in a few diverse, profitable, future-focused companies. It's important to invest diversely, so if one industry "cracks", all my "eggs aren't in one basket".
I am fighting to remain optimistic, despite everything. At least John is getting more interviews, although who knows if they will turn into a source of income. I've been encouraging him to have a positive attitude. He bought a lottery ticket Wednesday, and was positive we were going to win something. When we didn't, he said, "so much for having a positive attitude". I should have told him to have a realistic positive attitude.
