Desiree' is now about 9 months old and I decided it would be best if I quit my job at lumber mill and stayed home to take care of all her needs. Life as we knew it would forever change. I became so depressed that God had finally given me this beautiful little angel and now she was disabled I was devestated. Needless to say I looked for something to bury myself in and I found drugs... I very quickly became a meth addict and I thought all was fine I was able to tackle all the everyday things that came with having a disabled child and I had more time for the rest of my children or so I thought... |

So time went on and I thought I could do it all. Desiree' had been to numerous doctors and specialists and all of whom would only tell me that she was disabled no one could tell me why or to what extent her disability would have. By the time she was 3 1/2 years I put her in school I thought this might be a good idea so that she could get more therapy and socialization with other children of special needs. She did remakable so here I am trying to get my life back on track after my drug use and then we had the ERG and Cat scan of her brain and the results just about mad me lose my hope, it showed her brain was much smaller than it should be and that she would not be normal like most little girls. There went all my hopes and dreams for her. This was my thinking back then or I should say my drug induced minds thinking. |

Well I still did not want to give up but then something happened to change all our lives I got arrested for frug possession and put on probation. I made it about 5 months before I was in jail again for a dirty UA I could not stop using drugs. I was sent to a prerelease program and away from my family for 7 months so what do I do I have them all move down there so I could be close to them. This taught me nothing as soon as I got out I made it about a year and a half I was only lucky though I had not stopped using. Well Desiree' is 7 years old by now and she is needing her mom and I was no where to be found I was arrested for my third and final time and sent to Prison for 18 months. I completed treatment and then prerelease again and then I got paroled to ISP. Thats where you are monitored by a anklet tracking device. In the mean time the Department of family services had taken my children and put them into foster care and told me I would not get them back. |
