~ POEMS LOVINGLY DEDICATED
TO MICHAEL ~
WHEN YOU FEEL LOST, PAUSE AND LOOK
CLOSELY AROUND YOU.
SOMEWHERE, SOMEHOW, AN ANGEL WILL
BE WAITING TO HELP YOU HOME.
HE ONLY TOOK MY HAND
LAST NIGHT WHILE I WAS TRYING TO SLEEP,
MY SON'S VOICE I DID HEAR
I OPENED MY EYES AND LOOKED AROUND
BUT HE DID NOT APPEAR
HE SAID"MOM YOU'VE GOT TO LISTEN",
YOU'VE GOT TO UNDERSTAND
GOD DIDN'T TAKE ME FROM YOU,
MOM, HE ONLY TOOK MY HAND
WHEN I CALLED OUT IN PAIN THAT DAY
THE INSTANT THAT I DIED
HE REACHED DOWN AND TOOK MY HAND,
AND PULLED ME TO HIS SIDE
HE PULLED ME UP AND SAVED ME
FROM THE MISERY AND PAIN
MY BODY WAS HURT SO BADLY INSIDE
I COULD NOT BE THE SAME
MY SEARCH IS REALLY OVERNOW,
I'VE FOUND HAPPINESS WITHIN
ALL THE ANSWERS TO MY EMPTY DREAMS
AND ALL THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN.
I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU.
Listen Gentle People
Hear My Truest Needs
I hear you stumbling for words....... relax
There are no words.......
I hear you remembering a funny story
about my loved one and looking embarrassed
because you are laughing.
Share it with me ~ ~ Let me laugh.
It gives me something to hold onto
in the middle of the night
when I feel only pain...
Be your happy self and let me be me.
On days when I can speak of my loved one,
I need you to share my memories......
You don't have to give me answers,
for I will learn to live without them.
You don't have to pretend my loved
one never existed, thinking I will
forget if you do.
Let me speak his name and
You speak it too.
He is always there, that one I loved so
deeply, always part of who I am.
If you take that from me I will be
less then who I am.

My Lighthouse
by Di
Sometimes my life is dark, empty, and foreboding
Like a ship in the night out at sea
But you are there for me
You are the tower of strength that I rely on.
Sometimes I'm sad and alone
Like the captain at the wheel, wanting to be home
But you are there for me
You shine your bright light for me to reach out to
Sometimes I'm confused, not sure what to do
Like the seaman who looses his way in the fog
But you are there for me
Your voice tells me the right direction.
Sometimes life is as rough as the uncaring sea
It causes panic, frustration, and despair
But you are there for me
A quiet entity on the edge of a rugged cliff.
You are my beacon, my lighthouse.
Remember Me
Remember me whenever you see a sunrise,
Remember me whenever you see a star,
Remember me whenever you see a rainbow
Or woods in autumn colors from afar.
Remember me whenever you see the roses
Or seagulls sailing high in a sky of blue.
Remember me whenever you see waves
Shining in the sun.
And remember, I'll be remembering you!
Remember me whenever you see a teardrop,
Or meadows still wet with the morning dew.
Remember me whenever you feel love
Growing in your heart.
And remember, I'll be remembering you!

When You Come Back To Me Again
~ Written by Garth Brooks, Jenny Yates
There's a ship out, on the ocean
At the mercy of the sea
It's been tossed about, lost and broken
Wandering aimlessly
And God somehow you know that ship is me
'Cause there's a lighthouse, in the harbor
Shining faithfully
Pouring its light out, across the water
For this sinking soul to see
That someone out there still believes in me
On a prayer, in a song
I hear your voice and it keeps me hanging on
Raining down, against the wind
I'm reaching out til we reach the circle's end
When you come back to me again
There's a moment we all come to
In our own time and our own space
Where all that we've done, we can undo
If our heart's in the right place
On a prayer, in a song
I hear your voice and it keeps me hanging on
Raining down, against the wind
I'm reaching out til we reach the circle's end
When you come back to me again
And again I see my yesterday's in front of me
Unfolding like a mystery
You're changing all that is and used to be
On a prayer, in a song
I hear your voice and it keeps me hanging on
Raining down, against the wind
I'm reaching out til we reach the circle's end
When you come back to me again
When you come back to me again
I THINK OF YOU EACH DAY
AND OFTEN SPEAK YOUR NAME
BUT ALL THAT'S LEFT TO ANSWER ME,
IS A PICTURE IN A FRAME
"MY SON"
ON THE DAY GOD TOOK YOU
I THOUGHT THAT I WOULD DIE
I WONDERED WHERE THE TIME WENT?
I ASKED ALOT OF WHY'S?
WITH PEOPLE ALL AROUND ME,
I FELT ALONE INSIDE
FROM ALL THEIR WORDS OF COMFORT,
I COULDN'T SEEMTO HIDE
I THOUGHT I MUST BE DREAMING
THAT I'D WAKE AND FIND YOU HERE
I THOUGHT"THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING".
AS I WIPED ANOTHER TEAR
ON THE DAY THAT YOU WERE LAID TO REST
MY HEART BROKE YET AGAIN
I WONDERED IF THE PAIN WOULD END
BUT MOSTLY WONDERED WHEN?
AT TIMES THE DAYS SEEM LONG
SOMETIMES I JUST SIT CRYING
WHEN THERE'S REALLY NOTHING WRONG
I WISH WE'D HAD MORE TIME
BEFORE YOUR LIFE WAS DONE
I HOPE YOUR RESTING PEACEFULLY
MY PRECIOUS BOY
MY FIRST BORN SON
~ Written in loving memory of Michael
by Linda's friend, Briana "B" DeKorte.
Linda thanks "B" from the bottom of her heart.
THE MENTION OF HIS NAME
THE MENTION OF MY SON'S NAME
MAY BRING TEARS TO MY EYES
BUT IT NEVER FAILS TO BRING
MUSIC TO MY EARS
SO ALL WHO KNOW ME
LET ME HEAR THE BEAUTIFUL NAME
IT HELPS SOOTH MY BROKEN HEART
AND SINGS TO MY SOUL

Skybird
Written and sung by Neil Diamond
Skybird find your sail,
And every heart will know of the tale.
And head for the farthest shore.
Songbird make your tune,
For none may sing it just as you do,
And make your song be heard.
Look at the way I glide
Caught on the winds lazy tide
Sweetly how it sings,
Rally each heart at the sight of your silver wings.

JESUS IS THE LIGHTHOUSE
Sung by Greater Vision
There's a lighthouse on the hill side
That over looks life's seas
When I am tossed it sends out a light
That I might see
And the light that shines in darkness
Now will safely lead me on
If it wasn't for the lighthouse
My ship would sail no more
Everybody that lives around it
Says tear that lighthouse down
The big ships don't said this way
Anymore
There's no need of it standing round
But then my mind goes back to
That stormy night when just in time
I saw the light
Oh the light from that old lighthouse
That stands up there on the hill
And I thank God for the lighthouse
I owe my life to him
For Jesus is the lighthouse
That has thrown the rocks of sin
He has shown a light around me
That I could clearly see
And if it weren't for the lighthouse
Where would this ship be
And if it weren't for the lighthouse
Where would this ship be
LIGHT A CANDLE
And I will light a candle for you
to shadow all the darkness and bless the times we knew
Like a beacon in the night the flame will burn bright
and guide us on our way
Oh today I light a candle for you.
Seasons come and go and I'm weary from the change
Keep on moving on -- you know it's not the same
And when I'm walking all alone
Do you hear me call your name?
Do you hear me sing the songs we used to sing?
And I will light a candle for you...
You filled my life with wonder -- touched me with surprise
Always saw that something special deep within your eyes
And through the good times and the bad
We carried on with pride
I hold on to the love and life we knew
And I will light a candle for you...
Oh today I light a candle for you.
