Rebecca

Blinding beauty, a precious gift
A smile so pretty that it gave you a lift
A smashing laugh that made you laugh too
There were so many kind things that she would do.

A sense of humour, a good time girl
Her inner beauty shone like a pearl
A generous person, she gave and she gave
Diet coke and cookies were her fave.

She knew what she wanted, so bubbly and bright
When dressed to go out, she was a glamorous sight
Handbags and shoes were her thing
But nothing could beat her love for Jim.

Rebecca with her fiancee Jim.

This is a beautiful and loving gift for Angel Rebecca from my dear friend, Carol, mom to Angel Michael.

Our Christmas Angels

I have been trying to write some things about Rebecca but every time I start, I end up in tears and don't know what to put... what I can tell you is she was very sensitive and cried easily especially if it was to do with animals. She was very kind-hearted and always thought of other people. Her favourite colour was pink; she took after her nanny because she liked pink too.

Rebecca liked to go out for a meal or dancing with her friends. She was also a great shopper - her things were shoes and hand bags and that she got from me.

Rebecca loved going out with her fiancé and was very happy when they bought their house which she made into her own little world. She was also very house proud. Rebecca hated having diabetes, and at the beginning fought hard to ignore it but as she got older she was doing fine and everything was ok. Rebecca was the oldest and took care of her brother and sister she was a very generous girl.

Everyone that knew Rebecca will always be able to raise a smile and take pride in knowing that each and every one of us has a story to tell about my beautiful sister, ensuring that she will live on in our hearts forever.

Rebecca had a funny sense of humour and had a giggly sort of laugh. She loved flowers and had done quite well with them in her own garden.

Rebecca was the best daughter any one could wish for, she was always there if you needed her. She would always walk into the house and give me a big bear hug and tell me she loved me. We always had a laugh because she was taller than me and her boobies would get me in the neck and choked me when she squeezed hard. Everyday she would ring me to ask me what I had been doing and to tell me she loved me. I don't know what I will do without that.

Rebecca was the happiest that we had seen her in that last week. She was flying because James had asked her to marry him, and we were already talking about hats to wear. She could not believe that we had not let on that we knew he was going to ask her to marry him. I think she was shocked that we had kept the secret.

Baby Rebecca.

"Rebecca My Child"

Sweet daughter of mine
This pain is so real
The tears keep on flowing
My heart cannot feel.

The day you were born and I held you
I thought I would have you a lifetime.
It's not supposed to be this way
I can't accept this in my mind.

You were my child, my best friend too
And life was just beginning for you.
Wedding plans were in your future,
and now we must live our lives without you.

When I close my eyes I see your smile,
I hear your laughter everywhere,
And than I wake and tears flow softly,
Because Rebecca, your not there.

You walk in gardens filled with flowers
Your feet trod on golden streets,
Your days are filled with love and laughter,
But ours are filled with tears and grief.

We love and miss you precious daughter,
But one day we shall be together once more,
As heavens portals open wide for us
And you'll be there waiting for us at heaven's door.

Until that day our sweet Rebecca
Our hearts will never forget.
The love and joy you gave to us
For twenty-five years we were blessed.

By Joyce, a dear friend of Rebecca's mom, Nina.

This is a short version of what happened to Rebecca.

Rebecca was a diabetic from the age of 14 but her diabetes was under control and on monday the 21st April. She had her 25th birthday also her boyfriend had asked her to marry him and she had said yes. That week she was flying so high, she was so happy. Then on friday she out with friends and in the early hours of saturday morning she was vomiting. Her fiancé took her to the doctors first thing and they were told it was food poisoning and that it would go after 12-24 hours and just keep an eye on her sugar levels. This was what we did and they did not go above normal.

On Sunday morning Rebecca was still unwell so we took her to casualty where they put her on fluids and took blood samples. They said that she would be fine but later they said that she had renal failure and she had a suspected blood clot on the lung but she was young and strong and would be fine. Then at 5 pm they took her to put a central line in and said to go and wait in the high dependency unit and she would be up there shortly. But asking for two hours what was happening and why she was not there a doctor came in and told us that she had gone unconscious after they had put the central line in and they had interbated and sedated her so that she would not fight against it. Half an hour later they came and called us down.

Rebecca went to sleep at 11:05 pm after having seven cardiac arrests. The autopsy report said that she had died of septiceamia and multi organ failure.

The Rose Beyond the Wall

A rose once grew where all could see,
Sheltered beside a garden wall,
And, as the days passed swiftly by,
it spread its branches, straight and tall.
One day, a beam of light shone through
a crevice that had opened wide-
The rose bent gently toward its warmth
then passed beyond to the other side.
Now, you who deeply feel its loss,
be comforted-the rose blooms there-
Its beauty even greater now,
Nurtured by God's own loving care

Safely Home

I am home in Heaven, dear ones; Oh so happy and so bright!
There is a perfect joy and beauty, In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over, Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever, Safely home in heaven at last.

Did you wonder I so calmly, Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! But Jesus' love illuminated, Every dark and fearful glade.

And He came Himself to meet me, In that way so hard to tread;
And Jesus' arm to lean on, Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely, For I love you dearly still:
Try to look beyond earth's shadows, Pray to trust our Father's Will.

There is work still waiting for you, So you must not idly stand;
Do it now while life remaineth, You shall rest in Jesus' land.

When that work is all completed, He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting, Oh, the joy to see you come!

CORE

Softness of the Skin
Sweetness in the Smell
Nectar of the Fruit
Tender in the Heart
Dancing in the Eyes
Uplifting in the Smile
Tickle of the Touch
Joining in the Love

Truth in the Speech
Love in the Laughter
Primal in the Scream
Soft in the Whisper
Quick in the Mind
Fair in the Sentence
Brave in the Confrontation
Joining in the Love

Graceful in the Sleep
Careful in the Search
Deep in the Sorrow
Strength in the Sickness
Giving of Thy Self
Rich in the Health
Kind in the Giving
Joining in the Love
