In Loving Memory of Shauna LaPreal O'Neal September 23, 1969 - December 11, 2001 My daughter Shauna was born Sept 23, 1969 in Tucson, Arizona. Shauna passed away Dec 11, 2001. She was 34 years old, and left three beautiful children. I wrote this poem below for her for her funeral. It says alot about who she was. Bright Star In memory of Shauna LaPreal O'Neal 12/11/01 My precious Bright Star, shining From the beginning of your days Shining beyond the borders of our lives To light our days with joy. I see your laughing eyes, awake and wide Gazing at the wonders of this life Full of life's joy, you seized the moment Filling it with power and with laughter. Bright Star, shining, and yet so far away We held you for a moment, brief and warm Your journey, filled our dreams Yet we never knew the depth of you Life's burdens borne with solemn sadness The mortal body deemed you pain And yet, within the pain you touched And filled the lives of those you loved. Bright Star, shining, far away We watch the sky in hope we find some peace, You waiting there to light our journey home.
