So, how many 'women' has Daniel Jackson had?
Hmm.. well to my knowledge.. it's 4 - so far... not bad for a man who has spent a little longer than ONE Abydon year away from his beloved wife - mind you - apart from Sha'uri who was a 'gift' (and a surprise wife!!) he was possessed at the time of these encounters....
And what of his beloved wife Sha'uri ? AKA Sha're in the series - Lord only knows why they changed the name because Sha'uri sounds a whole lot nicer than (phonetically) "Sharay".
Sha'uri - played passionately by the beautiful Mili Atival- in the movie was the first love of Daniel Jackson's that we know of ( I'm sure someone that cute would have had his share of female companions - especially at University). Through the traditions of the Abydon people, she becomes Daniel's wife - much to his surprise. Typically he decides that it's not such a bad fate and stays (at the end of the movie) to honour his marriage.
The character of Sha're is later played by the (also) beautiful Vaitiare Bandera in the series. Much like Jack did, Sha're had a change of eye colour from movie to series, not that it matters much. After losing his wife, Daniel rejoins the Stargate program and is allowed to join Jack in SG-1. This sets in motion many, many situations where Daniel encounters the 'opposite sex'.....
In the Broca Divide, it seems that Daniel is immuned to the animalistic 'urges' that affects the others, however once his anti-histimines wear off, Daniel seems to have found a mate ( so to speak) in Melosha. As Jack returns through the gate, he sees Daniel by the fire and Jack says: "Daniel, you dog! Keep this up and you'll have a girl on every planet."
(apologies for bad screen capture. My tapes seem a "little' worn - LOL)
In Hathor Daniel is sized up by Hathor to become the new "Beloved". That is, she is basically after his "DNA" (aren't we all after Danny's 'DNA'?? LOL) so that she can reproduce more Goa'ulds. Actually, I find this episode a lot 'deeper' than many people do, as I see it as Daniel basically being 'raped' for his sperm.
If it were Sam, would we have thought so lightly of it???
In Need, Daniel saves Shylah from committing suicide and is then seen by her as her "destiny". She keeps Sam, Jack and Teal'c locked away in the mine so that she can have time to woo and win Daniel, using one of his favourite 'things' - a sarcophagus.
I have only seen up to Bane, so if Daniel has another liasion between here and the end of Season 2.. I dont know about it yet!
