This was another project from my childhood. I don't know why, but I was more fond of Cobra than I was of GI Joe. After Hasbro release the Joe HQ, I wanted my Cobra forces to have a base of their own. Unfortunately this project never got completed since my interests changed from Joes to Transformers.

It was basically a large box modified to look like a castle. There's an uncompleted drawbridge. I was going to attach chains and a crank which could lower or raise the bridge. There were also side doors that swung open. Hiss tanks would come out from these entrances and side guns would be aimed forward.

The first level consisted of tower gun emplacements, heavy machine guns and smaller green 50 caliber machine guns protecting the side. There's also a door that leads into the HQ. The tower gun were made from yogurt cups with the clear dome coming from a McDonald Sundae. You can't see it from the picture, but the top of the dome has an imprinted McDonald symbol. Unable to finance the construction of the castle in-house, Cobra sought corporate sponsors. Rumors had it other sections of the castle would include the Taco Bell Command Center, the Wendy's Officer's lounge and of course the KFC dungeon :-).

But I digress, the guns were made from wooden dowels with masking tape wrapped around them. You can remove the tower guns and replace them with missile pods.

The top level consisted of 2 anti-aircraft machine guns and a radar controlled surface to air missile. These were all GI Joe pieces. I never got around to repainting them blue and black.

Last but not least, the entire top section can be removed. The bottom part was suppose to contain a jail, armory and an area for 2 Hiss tanks. If I ever find my design plans I scan them in. It was quite an ambitious project, but unfortunately fell victim to the Transformer craze .... robots in disguise.
