What a day! This is the second time I've said this in here. Flit told me that he was feeling fine, so we took our daily walk in Viridian Forest. Nothing much happend for a while, so we were walking in peace and quiet. We saw a wild weedle, and Flit wanted to battle it. I was wary at first, because Flit was geting over his cold, but I said yes(I can't resist those eyes!). It was a heated battle, but Flit eventually triumphed! It was quite a match. After the battle we contiuned to walk. Suddenly I heard a sniffle from Flit. He wasn't over his cold, he was just pretending! I was about to give him a lecture, when we heard a sound. It the sound of a swarm of beedrills. Oppal wanted to run because he was weak against bugs and Flit was weak from the battle with the weedle. But I heard another sound with the beedrills. It was very weak, but I heard it.
"Someone is being attacked by the beedrills! We have to help them!" I said, as I started to run to the sound of the beedrill swarm. Flit and Oppal followed after me. We ran until we reached the origin of the noise. There was the swarm of beedrills attacking a lone spearow. Even though birds are strong against bugs, there were too many of the beedrills for the spearow to overcome. Oppal said that the spearow was poisioned, and wouldn't last long.
"We have to think this over. We can't just go running in there, we'll be crushed. We need a plan," I said. We thought for what seemed to be a long while, when it must have been only a few seconds. Suddenly Flit had an idea. He told Oppal to hold him with his vine whips. Flit would shoot String Shot Silk at the beedrills from the cover of the forest and then run to a different place and repeat. The beedrills would be confused and slowed down by the silk coming from all directions. Then Oppal would let go of Flit and Flit would run up a tree and hide. Oppal would then do his Razor Leaf attack and let the beedrills chase him into the forest. Once the beedrills were chasing him, Oppal would use his Vine Whips and climb up a tree and hide. The beedrills would eventually give up looking for him, and by the time they went back to the spearow, it would be gone. It was my job to grab the spearow when the beedrills were chasing Oppal. It was a great plan. What could go wrong?, I thought.
We got into position. Oppal grabbed Flit with his whips and Flit began to shoot String Shot in the air. Oppal ran around the beedrills, staying in the forest so the beedrills couldn't see him and Flit. The beedrills were slowed and confused by the unknown attacker. I saw Oppal drop Flit and Flit crawl up the nearest tree. Oppal then walked into the open and did his Razor Leaf attack. The beedrills were furious. They forgot about the spearow and flew to Oppal. Oppal ran into the forest. I counted to 5 and ran into the clearing where the spearow was. It was barely awake. I picked it up and begain to run. But I tripped(I'm such a clutz under pressure) and twisted my ankle. I could barely walk, let alone run. And to make things worse we were still in the open, where the beedrills could easily swarm us. I crawled as fast as I could, but it wasn't fast enough. A beedrill that had split from the swarm had come back to check on the spearow, and found me trying to rescue it. It called its swarm. The swarm of beedrills came, closer and closer, their poison stingers ready to sting us. I thought it was over for us. Suddenly the spearow began to cry out.
"Spear-ROW! Spear-ROW!" it cried. The beedrills stopped. The hovered there until they heard a different sound. A whole flock of spearows burst from the trees and began to attack the beedrills. The beedrills we quickly overcome. At this point Oppal and Flit came running to me.
They had seen everything.
"Thank-you spearow," I said, but the spearow didn't hear it. It was unconious, the beedrills poison causing it to faint.
"Oppal, could you carry the spearow? I have to limp, and I couldn't carry anything," I asked. Oppal said that he would be happy to. We walked home slowly, for I had to limp. We made it, eventually, and I teaded to the spearow, giving it some Antidote, and laying it on a make-shift bed. I called the doctor and had him come over to look at my ankle. The doctor came and said to keep off my ankle for a couple days. He left. Then the spearow woke up. She said that it was very greatful for our rescue and that she had an interest in my adventures and would like to be a part of them.
"Sure," I said. "Do you want a name?" The spearow informed me that she already had a name, but it was unpronounceable by humans. She continued, saying that she would allow me to give her a name for me to call it.
"Alright," I said. "I'll call you Arrow." When I said this, the spearow's eyes lit up. I could tell she was pleased.
So ends today's adventure. As I said before, I have to stay off my foot for the next few days, which means I'll have to stay in bed. Oh, well. It's worth it for a new friend. Also, I made Flit go to bed too, because his cold is still bothering him.
