The forest moon of Endor is best known as the place where the Empire fell. With the Death Star orbiting it, a small band of rebels, assisted by a tribe of primitive teddy bears called ewoks, destroyed the shield generator that was preventing the Rebels from making thier attack on Death Star II. In this picture, you can see the shield generator in the background.
The ewoks that assisted with the ground assault live in a huge village that is built in the trees. It is amazing that little fuzzy bears could build such a massive, stable, high altitude home. They even have elevators (ewok powered, of course), catapults, hang gliders, and intricate traps. They are also extremely strong for their small size. Without these fuzzy little wariors, the Empire could not have met its end.
