Excelsior-Class StarshipU.S.S. Excelsior (NCC-2000)
The first starship of her class, the Excelsior was the test-bed starship for the new Trans-warp drive system developed by Starfleet in 2285. However, just prior to its first test, the Enterprise sabotages its Trans-warp computer system without anyone realizing it. The drive is later deemed a failure and the ship is refit with a standard warp drive. In the year 2290, the ship began a 3 year mission, under the command of Capt. Hikiru Sulu, to catalouge gasious planitary anomalies in the BETA Quadrant. The ship was also involved in the Kitamar Assassination attempt in 2293, and helped defend the Enterprise-A against a prototype Klingon Bird of Prey that could fire torpedoes while clocked. |
Excelsior (Refit) Class StarshipU.S.S. Enterprise-B (NCC-1701-B)
This starship was first unvealed in Star Trek: Generations when Capt. Kirk, Capt. Scott and Commander Chekov where invited onboard for her first launch in 2297 (assumed date). PLEASE NOTE: The specifications for the Refitted version of the Excelsior-Class Starship are not yet available. However, because both ships are still very similar in appearence, the only possible differences between the two would be the primary systems, such as Warp drive, Shields, Weapons etc. |
