This is my Footman's Warhammer circa 1200-1450. While normally a sword would have been used for a Gonner's secondary weapon, I prefer the bludgeoning weapons like the warhammer. Such a weapon was more effective against the heavier plate armors. This one was typical of archers and pikemen of the period. It is normally used with two hands.
This is my early 16th Century German Warhammer. This baby is a one handed weapon.
