Willow Children's Literature

The Willow Storybook

The children's storybook of the movie, by Cathy East Dubowski, was published by Random House to coincide with the opening of the film. The look and feel of the book is much like Random House's other Lucasfilm storybooks (the Star Wars Trilogy and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom), with a detailed summary of the film, highlighted by gorgeous stills, following the description and photos of major characters in the very front. Both paperback and hardcover versions were published. (Click on thumbnail to the right for the full image.)

The Willow Picture Storybook

This adaptation, written by Cathy West and illustrated by Diane DeGroat, had much the same look and feel of the popular Little Golden Book series, although it was released by Random House. Though the story is greatly simplified (Sorsha is eliminated altogether), the illustrations are supposedly phenomenal. Thanks again to Stacie for this information.

The Willow Sticker Album

Panini published this 32 page sticker album and a set of 240 stickers, made available in packs of ten.

The Willow Activity Book

This 32-page book was a mail-in offer from Jell-O, and featured a maze to Tir Asleen, the Bones' secret message, and instructions on how to make Madmartigan's Victory Cola, along with a number of scenes to color.

Willow Coloring Books

Random House published a series of Willow coloring books, including "His Friends and Foes" and "Magical Creatures," as shown above.

The Willow Junior Novelization

This 125-page novelization of the movie, aimed at kids ages 10-14, was adapted by Joan D. Vinge and released by Random House about the same time as the movie.
