BASIC CHRISTIAN TRUTHS

BAPTISM INTO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

Water baptism into the Lord Jesus Christ is God's way of salvation (Mk. 16:16; 1 Pet. 3:20-21). Those who are baptized into Christ will have their sins remitted (Acts 2: 38; 22:16; 1 Cor. 6:11; Col. 2:11-13). They have regeneration - "born of water" (Jn. 3:5; Tit. 3:5; Rom. 6:4).

There are seven important points in BAPTISM INTO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

  1. Believe in the LORD JESUS CHRIST (Mk. 16:16; Acts 8:36-38; Acts 19:4-5).

  2. "In the Name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST" (Acts 2:38; 8:12; 10:43, 48; 19:5; 1 Cor. 6:11).

  3. In the blood of the LORD JESUS CHRIST (Jn. 19:34-35; 1 Jn. 5:6-8; Eph. 1:7; 1 Pet. 1:18-19; Rev. 1:5; 5:9).

  4. Death, burial and resurrection with the LORD JESUS CHRIST is symbolized by the baptismal mode of complete immersion in the water (Rom. 6:3-4; Col. 2:12-13).

  5. In the likeness of the LORD JESUS CHRIST's death (Rom. 6:5). Our Lord died on the cross with His head bowed (Jn. 19:30). The baptismal mode is with head bowed.

  6. By Spirit-filled baptists who are authorized and sent by the LORD JESUS CHRIST to administer water baptism for the remission of sins (Jn. 20:19-23; Acts 2:38).

  7. In the Living Water that symbolizes the LORD JESUS CHRIST (Jer. 2:13). Our LORD set an example and received baptism in the river Jordan (Mt. 3:13-17). Baptism can also be in springs and seas.
