I am a photo-journalist (& journalist) working mainly on the CIS & Middle Eastern countries - such as Tadjikistan, Ouzbekistan, Georgia, Armenia, Karabagh, Egypt, Syria, Iran (where I am born)....I have also worked on stories in England, in the USA, Italy, Spain....
For the past eleven years I have been working on Armenia and Karabagh - both on assignments and on my personal portfolio.
I started my work on Armenia & Karabagh in 1989 - (during the last years of the Soviet regime), and I continue working on this project up to today; I try to show the process of transition from the Soviet era into a capitalistic way of life....traditions which persist, evolutions, despair & frustration, faith, hope, joy....
I work both in colour and in black & white.
My photographs have been published in major magazines & newspapers worldwide: L.A Times, The Washington Post, Newsweek, L'Express, Le Point, La Libération, Asahi Graph, Marie Claire, Popoli, Grands, Reportages, Terres Lointaines, Peuples du Monde, Le Monde, AIM, Catholic Narear East, France-Arménie, Les Nouvelles d'Arménie .etc.etc.......
