Version 4 (March 30)

A CALL TO ACTION

An illegitimate Bush makes an illegitimate G8

From June 21st to 26th, a wide variety of activism will take to the streets in Calgary, Canada. Everything from a knit-in to vigils and a family march will take place, most with a focus on being inclusive, safe and legal. ( http://g8.activist.ca/event/ )

Around that same time the exclusive, unsafe, illegal and illegitimate George W Bush will be with the G8. He will pose with trees. He will pose with black people. He will search desperately for children to pose with.

He might even pose with dead fishes. He likes to pose with what he destroys. When he looks at those trees, he will only see barriers to pipelines, and lumber to put his tariffs on. When he sees African leaders (who have no power in the G8) he will only see camera angles to line up, and people worth bombing to pump up patriotism. When he sees his follow G8 leaders, he will see more international treaties to throw onto the bonfire.

The illegitimate president will charm and give nicknames to leaders of a mostly illegitimate organization. Like Bush, who ignored votes of the poor and Blacks in Florida, the G8 ignores votes from the poor, non-white world. The same way that the Bush Junta overthrew the legitimate American government, the G8 is trying to overthrow the legitimate United Nations.

Just as illegitimate as Bush and the G8 is the so called "debt" owed to them by the third world. Because unelected banks made bad loans to unelected Bush-like dictators a generation ago, today's poor children in poor nations are forced to pay billions in foreign aid to rich banks in rich nations. Like Bush, this "debt" is illegitimate.

The G8 agenda is eerily similar to the Bush strategy - Bush makes promises to "leave no child behind" while destroying education. The G8 promises worldwide universal education by 2005, yet happily sees children in poverty pay school fees to fatten the pockets of rich American banks. This is not enough, now the G8 is looking forward to having what passes for education in the third world simply privatized.

Bush does photo ops with women while gutting their rights. The G8 knows that girls suffer most under the "debt", but continue to make empty promises about "relief" of a "debt" that is already a fraud. They did this in 1999, 2000 and 2001, and will lie again in 2002.

The G8 is a white-power organization with one just-pale-enough token, Japan. India and Brazil are powerful democracies but their votes don't count. Italy is a minor police state run by the man who owns all of the media, yet is considered G8-worthy. Russia is a pile of wreckage run by a genocidal KGB insider, but is still included. Like Bush, the G8 uses blacks as photo ops as they beg for table scraps that keep getting pulled away, then waved in their faces, then pulled away again. The G8 theme is Africa - poor Asians and Latinos are not even considered to have photogenic value by Bush and the G8.

If Bush takes over the G8, and the G8 overthrows the United Nations, it will be Florida all over again.

NOT IF WE CAN STOP IT!

Let us go down in history as those who fought to stop this global dictatorship, and to bring back the values of global democracy, peace, and justice. We are inspired by the generation of Americans who stormed beaches of blood in the name of the United Nations to defeat the sexist, racist, globe-conquering dictators of their generation. Our generations will not let them down!
