Just twenty-two years old, Heath Ledger, an Australian native, has taken critics, women, and America by storm like Mel and Russell before him. (not so much like Paul Hogan or Yahoo Serious) Having begun his acting career in Perth in the Globe Shakespeare Company, Heath soon landed a groundbreaking, starmaking role on the Aussie TV drama "Sweat" in which he played Australian television's first gay character, cyclist Snowy Bowles. In 1999, Heath hit the states hard with his showy performance in 10 Things I Hate About You opposite Julia Stiles and went on to work with Mel Gibson in The Patriot. Currently hoping to show that he has the power to open a movie, Heath stars in A Knight's Tale, which has already become an early critics' fave for the summer season.
