Below you will find a brief timeline of events that have occurred in Avonlea.

1823  ---            Eliza Ward is born.

1837  ---            Jeziah Rushton grants the King family water rights.

1851  ---            Arabella King remains in Avonlea. William Tyler is shot.

1859  ---            Henrietta (Hetty) Euphema King is born to Abraham & Elizabeth King.

1861  ---            Blair Stanley is born.

1863  ---            Alexander (Alec) Abraham King, the second child of Abraham & Elizabeth King,
                         is born.

1867  ---            The Rev. Ambrose Dimsdale creates a "to-do" with his "Touring Evangelical Choir"
                         and has a secret romance with Rachel Lynde.
                       
1868  ---            Janet Mary Ward is born. Hetty quarrels with Rachel Lynde & Romney Penhallow
                         and vows never to speak to either of them again.
                         Rachel later marries Thomas Lynde.

1870  ---            Ruth King, the third child of Abraham & Elizabeth King, is born.

1871  ---            Roger King, the fourth child of Abraham & Elizabeth King, is born.
                        
1872  ---            Olivia Josephine King, the fifth child of Abraham & Elizabeth King, is born.

1888  ---            Alexander (Alec) Abraham King marries Janet Mary Ward.

1890  ---            Andrew Michael King is born to Roger & (unkown name) King.

1891  ---            Felicity Janet King is born to Alec & Janet King.

1893  ---            Sara Elizabeth Stanley is born to Blair & Ruth Stanley.

1894  ---            Felix Alexander King, the second child of Alec & Janet King, is born.

1895  ---            Cecily Margaret King, the third child of Alec & Janet King, is born.
                         Ruth Stanley dies of tuberculosis.

1896  ---            Edwin Clark is forced to break up with Olivia King & later marries Althea Gillis.

1897  ---            Malcolm McEwen leaves by force of Rev. Ward and heads for the Yukon.

1903 ---             Blair Stanley is suspected of embezzlement and is forced to stay under house arrest.
                         Andrew King & Sara Stanley arrive in Avonlea. Olivia King takes up a position as a
                         newspaper reporter for The Avonlea Chronicle.
                         Theodore Simpkin tries to take the water rights away from the King family, but fails.
                         Malcolm MacEwan marries Abigail Ward.
                         Robert (Lucky) MacEwan is adopted by Malcolm & Abigail MacEwan.
                         Hetty King makes up with Rachel Lynde.
1903  ---
LATER Blair Stanley is aquitted on all charges of embezzlement.

1904  ---            Blair Stanley dies in a freak accident at Stanley Imports.
                         Sara is kidnapped by Isis and Leo.
                         Gus Pike arrives in Avonlea.
                         Hetty King starts teaching Gus Pike at The Avonlea School.
                         Andrew King leaves Avonlea to go with his father, Roger, to Brazil.
                         Romney Penhallow comes back to Avonlea and
                         re-kindles his romance with Hetty King.

1905  ---            David (Davey) & Dora Keith are adopted by Marilla Cuthbert.
                         Abraham Pike escapes from prison and sneaks in to Avonlea.
                         Abe Pike was pushed off the cliffs and supposedly dies.
                         Captain Ezekial Crane leaves his lighthouse to Gus Pike while he leaves for Jamaica.
                         Daniel King, the fourth child of Alec & Janet King, is born.
                         Jasper Thomas Dale marries Olivia Josephine King.
                         Digger (the dog) has been claimed by Cecily King.
                         Marilla Cuthbert tragically passes away.

1906  ---            Abe Pike returns & kidnapps Gus Pike & Sara Stanley, but they later get free.
                         Montgomery Dale is born to Jasper & Olivia Dale.
                         Hetty King takes a break from her teaching job and becomes a writer for a short time.
                         Digger is accidently shot by Felix.

1907  ---            Gus Pike proposes marriage to Felicity King for the first time.
                         H.B. Dunn tries to buy all the property in Avonlea.

1908  ---            Hetty King turns 50 and is forced to undergo surgery.
                         Jasper & Olivia Dale take over Angus McCorkadale's Cannery.
                         Cecily King comes down with tuberculosis and is sent to theThornhill Sanitarium.
                         Sara Stanley takes her leave for finishing school.

1909  ---            Gus Pike makes his leave with his mother, Eliza Pike,
                         to Jamaica to find Captain Ezekial Crane
                         Avonlea holds it's first annual bachelor auction.
                         Felix King and Izzy Pettibone purchase a fox farm together.
                         Rachel Lynde suffers from a stroke.

1910  ---            Cecily King recovers from TB & returns from the Sanitarium.
                         Felicity King is told that Gus Pike's ship has gone down.

1911  ---            Margaret Lloyd dies and donates her home to Felicity King & Stuart McRae,
                         who turn it intoThe Avonlea Foundling Home.
                         Eliza Ward celebrates her 90th birthday.
                         Romance grows between Felix King & Izzy Pettibone.

1912  ---            Felicity King locates Gus Pike who has been left blind from a shipwreck.
                         The Dale cannery has burned down.
                         Alecia Dale has been adopted by Jasper & Olivia Dale.
                         Gus Pike marries Felicity Janet King.
                         World War 1 has begun & Felix King joins the Navy.
                         The Dale family leaves for England.

1914  ---            Felix King returns from World War 1. Hetty King recovers from back surgery.
