Noble Born [General]
Prerequisite: Chr 15+, May only be taken at character creation

Benefit: The character is of noble birth, be her the daughter of a Count, Baron or even perhaps the King himself.  Not only is the character of noble birth, but also the character's parents fully supports her career as an adventurer.  This grants the character double the starting gold with the intentions of purchasing equiptment and one lesser magical item of the DM's descretion.  The magical item represents a "parting gift" that her parents have deemed appropriate to aid in her future travels.  The character also benefits from being able call upon her mother and father for support if she ever needs a favor, as well as being able to seek sanctuary behind the walls of her family's estate.  The character also gains a +2 bonus on all Diplomacy and Knowledge (Noble) checks.
However this feat acts as a double-edged sword.  The noble born character suffers from her families reputation (be it good or bad) and often times become the target of kidnapings.  Where after her capturers demand a high ransom for her safe return.   She is also unable to escape the political strife of her family and can become a target of rival factions.
So is the life of a noble born.

*Note to the DM: If you do not wish to have your players' characters deal in your campaign's politics then you should not allow this feat.  Although the character does not have an official title or sufficient influence, the character is destined to inherit her family's estate and appropriate title and will eventually become a key figure in your world's politics.
** Inspired by Charles Hagin's personality trait "Imperial Birth" from the Varix campaign.
