		Length: Shields: Jump Engines: Armament: Onboard Craft: Garrison:		400 meters None No 1 Super-Heavy Particle Laser 3 Pulse Cannons 2 Fusion Missile Launchers 6 Light Flak Cannons None None		The primary fixed-defense of the Earth Alliance, the Aegis Platform carries enough firepower to do serious damage to a major warship or, in the event of the loss of the surface, the platform can be fired on the surface to destroy a large part of the crust and cause massive tectonic failures. A massive deterrant to modern assault, the Aegis Platform can absord a massive amount of punishment before being destroyed. As a precaution, the Aegis Platform is also fitted with Fusion Missiles, Pulse Cannon and Flak Cannon for closer threats and fighter interdiction.      The Aegis Platform proved herself in the Earth Civil War when the defense grid around Earth was turned against the rebellious forces under the command of General William Hague. Fully half of Hague's fleet was hit by fire from these platforms before the defense grid was finally neutralized and the majority of vessels hit were forced to undergo extensive repairs before they could return to action. This, more than anything else, served to prove the faith of Earth Alliance commanders in these weapons.
