While the majority of current active Omega-class Destroyers remain in the service of the Earth Alliance, two of these vessels broke entirely from Earth's service during the Earth Civil War to sign on with John Sheridan in his war against the Shadows and the Vorlons. It must be noted that while these vessels are armed identically to their Earth Alliance counterparts, the Destroyers in service to Sheridan have suffered due to a lack of replacement parts and thereforce as less well equipped. Also, both the Talos and Yalta use the older Starfuries instead of the new Thunderbolt Starfighters.
     The first vessel, the EAS
Talos, left the service of President Clark soon after Clark's failed attempt to retake Babylon 5 from Sheridan's control. The Destroyer was crucial in aiding several raids by Sheridan's forces against Clark's supply convoys and took part in the operation under Commander Susan Ivanova against President Clark's Omega X Destroyer squadron. Damaged in the final battle against the Vorlons and Shadows at Coriana VI, the Talos was almost written off as a total loss until two Minbari Warcruisers were able to tow her back to Minbar to be repaired in the shipyards there. Since then, the Talos has stood a constant watch over Babylon 5 and her small fleet.
     The other Destroyer, the
Yalta, has a much darker history. Having been in service to President Clark for the majority of the Earth Civil War, the Yalta was part of a subjugation effort against the world of Arisia which accounted for the lives of over fifty thousand civilians when the Yalta launched her Thunderbolts in a ground attack. The Yalta was present for the battle between Clark's Omega X Destroyers and Commander Ivanova's White Star Fleet and was captured after being battered to the point of collapse, her hull ruptured and most of the crew dead to decompression. The ship was towed back to Minbar, repaired and then brought to Babylon 5 where she was re-crewed and rearmed. She now serves primarily as a convoy escort vessel.
Note: The Omega-class Destroyer may not use her Heavy Particle Lasers or Heavy Pulse Cannon in her port or starboard arcs
