Indonesia is
a beautiful country, with about 13,000 islands. I was born in Megamendung,
Bogor, West Java, a very pretty place, green, and comfortable weather.
Bogor is famous as the City of Rain, and "Megamendung" means cloudy sky.

I used to lived in Bogor for a while
with my grandparents until my parents sent me to school in Jakarta, even
then I spent my weekends and vacation in Bogor together with my brother
Dika. My grandparents were farmers. They had a big farm on
which we grew corn and many different vegetables. They also had a big rice
padi field.
Rice Padi
My grandpa left early in the
morning to work in the field, my grandmother and I walked to the field
at noon, to bring lunch for my grandpa. We would have lunch together and
then My grandparents would go back to work in the field after that. I was
not a big helper, I just spent my time playing with my bald baby doll.
I grew up
in Jakarta. Big, hot and humid city but it's also a center of business,
maybe that's why my parents moved there.
Many nice, historical places
to visit in Jakarta. Monas (Monument National). Monas is Jakarta's
landmark. The flame on the top of it is made of 35 kg gold.
The museum inside it tells the history of Indonesian independence
war.
The Kathedral (Catholic Cathedral)
- built in 1901. Very nice church. One of my best friend Theresia and Frankie
had their wedding ceremony there.
We also have the largest mosque
in South East Asia - Istiqlal.

You can find many different kinds
of transportation in Indonesia, bus, taxi, boat, becak, bajaj, helicak
etc. Becak was my favorite, because you won't smell any gasoline,
and you can feel the wind blown to your face, very refreshing. When I was
litlle on Hari Raya my parents gave me some money. My friends and I collected
our money and we rode becak arround the neigborhood. It was fun. Too bad
you can't find them in Jakarta anymore. Bajaj - originally from India.
You can't find bajaj in the main street of Jakarta. I don't know
why, maybe because they make too much noise. Bajaj's color are usually
orange. Helicak - almost the same as bajaj but the driver is on the back
and their color are usually green.
