BACK TO OUR HOUSE
It's been a very long.....wet.....winter out here in California, and just the past few weeks, things have let up a bit. Oh, and by the way, Pepper is very happy to see you, too!

At this point, I think I should tell you a little about Tom (my big Italian husband) and me. Both of us were born in California.....Tom in Los Angeles and me in Long Beach.

We met and married in 1950.... ah....those were the good old days....here's a picture of me when we got married:

(Oh, and here's the latest one I just had taken)
We have three wonderful children.....first, a girl named Cindy.....then along came twins, a boy named Tom, Jr. and another girl named Janice. We have four wonderful grandchildren and our family is still very close.

Tom is one of 9 children (typical Italian family!) and LOTS OF RELATIVES back in New Jersey and other cities in the East. His mother and father came to America from Palermo, Italy and I'm sure he has many relatives there.

We love family get-togethers, he likes the horses....me. I like webtv (as if you all didn't know that by now).

El Nino did a job on Southern California this year, however, many parts of the country had it a lot worse than we did.

Well....on to our activities since we returned from our vacation last year. ***************************************************

THE RAIN DID WONDERS FOR OUR FLOWERS THIS YEAR

Now that the good weather is here, we have to get busy and get our yard in order.....first order of the day is to get ole dad out there and get those lawns looking good!

BUT FIRST, HE HAD TO SHOO AWAY THE RABBITS
OH, BOY, LOOK AT THIS YARD FULL OF GRASS...LOOKS LIKE I'M GOING TO HAVE A REAL GOOD DINNER

Darn rabbit, eating up all the grass

NOW HE CAN GET TO THAT JOB OF MOWING THE LAWN!

IN APRIL WE HAD A BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR OUR GRANDSON WHO JUST TURNED 10...you guessed it....his favorite present was a....

Take it easy Kevin...you're new at this, you know!

WE HIRED A CLOWN TO ENTERTAIN THE KIDS AND I BAKED A BIRTHDAY CAKE... (It took a lot for me to forget my webtv and stay in the kitchen all day!).

Pretty good for an old grandma like me, huh? I can still whip up a cake or two!!!!

The clown was a little late arriving, but he made up for it by doing some great tricks for the kids.

THE FOLLOWING WEEK, WE CELEBRATED EASTER....THE MOST WONDERFUL DAY OF THE YEAR, OTHER THAN CHRISTMAS

About 30 years ago, when Tom and I were on vacation, we started going to Del Mar (a beautiful beach in Southern California)....this has become quite a tradition in our family, and now our children go to the same motel each year with their kids

I would stay on the beach with the kids and he would go to the the racetrack, which was within walking distance from the motel we stayed at each year:
Sometimes after he got back from the races, we would have a barbecue and build a firepit on the beach:
(oh boy!..hotdogs & steak!)

Our son loved surfing and the girls loved to ride the waves on their boogie-boards:

Hang in there Tommy

ONE NIGHT, TOM & I WENT DANCING AND LEARNED HOW TO DO THE......
