Don't believe it exists? How could these 'protectors of the law' ever be responsible for unexplained deaths, unlawful arrests, unconstitutional searches, racism, brutal beatings, deterioration of crucial evidence and an unjustified use of CS gas and pepper spray during the WTO protests and the succeeding interrogations inside the King County Correctional Facility?
We trust the badge-bearers blindly, assuming that what occurs 'behind closed doors' surely is in accordance with the Constitution. But if it varies slightly, it bodes well anyway, since we are not exposed to 'it'.
