Whilst attending a memorial service to commemorate the soldiers who gave their lives liberating France, Jacques Chirac was caught by television cameras chomping on onions. Downing Street has expressed its disgust at the snub, and reminded the French ambassador that if it had not been for the British (and Americans) then France would still be under the humiliating control of the Wehrmacht.
