The group FLY will represent Lativa at this years Eurovision Song Contest in Riga. The song itself is a very catchy number which should do quite well for the host country, maybe a top 5 place in May. It is definately the best chosen song upto now. Let's see how it does in May

The songs and performers that will take part in Eirodziesma 2003 ( the Latvian national final) will be announcewd on Friday 15th November at 13.00 at a news conference held by Latvian Television at Zakusalas Krastmala 3 in Riga. Information will also be released about the jury that evaluated the songs that were submitted. The logo for Eurovision 2003 will also be presented.
57 entries have been received for the Latvian national final, 'EIRODZIESMA'. The deadline for receiving songs was November 4th. Songs were submitted from the finalists of last years national preliminaries and from composers and authors who are but unknown to the wider audience. From the 57 songs, 49 are to be in English with six in Latvian and two in Russian.
Most of the songs were sent in very late by the musicians because they had so much work to do. Some were even recorded the night before the deadline.
All of the songs submitted will be evaluated by foreign experts who were selected by LTV. The songs are due to be sent to the experts on November 6th and be returned no later than November 15th. There will be an expert from Latvia, Great Britian, Malta, Russia, Estonia, Finland, Denmark, Germany, Slovenia and Israel.
The Latvian national final will be held in Ventspils on the 1st February. More information will be available as soon as the negotiations have been settled by Ventspils council.
