Dale's Role
I'm one of the band's two guitar players.  I think my main job is keeping the band an organized on-going concern...bottom line is that organized bands succeed while disorganized bands fail ... 90% of the bands out there don't make it past their 10th gig so despite the mistakes I've made, I think I'm getting the job done.  I also manage the band's financials (thank God the guys all said they weren't in it for the money!)
Favorite Barrelhouse Song
Frankentein is still a blast to play.... or any of the Allman Brothers tunes.
Cause We've Ended as Lovers(Jeff Beck) does it for me big time, but unfortunately, there's not  a lot of audience for Jeff Beck material so I don't get a chance to wind out with it very often.
Favorite Barrelhouse Show
Favorite Barrelhouse Experience
Out-of-town overnight gigs - we come away closer friends
Best Band/Artist of All Time
Jeff Beck & Leslie West!!! My all time favorite guitarists. Without them, I probably would not be a guitarist myself. Sooo many other bands : notables are obviously the Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Yes, Steely Dan(are they really a band?), Mahavishnu Orchestra, Beatles...
Best Concert of All Time
Jimi Hendrix - Cobo Hall, Detroit, 1968 (I know I'm dating myself here!)
Other Bands/Musicians of Interest
Any band or musician(s) that feature strong guitar work will obviously appeal to me but I also like any material by competent musicians, even if the focus is not necessarily on the guitar work (Emerson Lake & Palmer, Weather Report, Chick Corea to name a few).  Playing in a working band requires that you put your own interests second to those of the crowd.
Other Interests and Hobbies
Trapshooting, archery & my kids..
Music Gear used in Barrelhouse
Guitars : Gibson Les Paul Custom, Fender "Jeff Beck" signature strat,
Takamine 12-string, Taylor 414CE, Epiphone LP junior (slide),
              Yamaha SLG100S Silent Guitar..
Amps :    Mesa Nomad 100 with 2X12 recto cab.
               Marshall GC100CD  (talk box rig)
Effects:   Budda Wah, Boss Delay, Voodoo Lab Chorus, Boss Phase Shifter,
              Heil talkbox, Voodoo Lab Tremolo.
Worst Barrelhouse Experience
Anytime we have to replace a member.... other than that, back in May/2002, we had some gear stolen just a couple of hours before an O'Connors Pub gig... after scrambling to borrow some instruments to play that night, our soundman pulled a no-show on us at the last minute - megaStress..
Inspiration to Play Guitar
When I was 12, my parents put me in music lessons and told me to pick an instrument... Mom liked piano, Dad liked the tuba.  I figured a guitar would be easier to carry around.
Any of our Allman Brothers Revue shows... when we're hittin' the tunes on the note it feels like we're "floating" thru the tunes... when we're not, it's like falling down an endless flight of stairs  !
