Traditional dives from the bridge

(July 30, 2005)

The traditionally dives from Lim’s bridge organized in Berane. There was big number of amateurs who take a part in this competition. Competitors had three obligated dives: Swallow, Legs and Free style. Juror’s team (Nikola Veljic, Veljko Raicevic and Milutin Sekulovic) decided THE WINNER IS HARIS MEKIC.

The best team this year is “Café bar Zona” (Suad Ramusovic, Zoran Nisavic, Vladan Savic, Srecko Radovic, Marko Veljic, Amer Huremovic, Boban Akovic, Miro Obadovic,  Dejan Ivanovic)

Second place – “Café bar Fili” (Zoran Akovic, Dragan Boskovic, Srdjan Spalevic, Buco i Admir Zejnilovic, Rade Rajcevic, Elvis Radoncic, Srdjo Milanovic,  Dalibor Abramovic). Van Gogh Concert

(July 20, 2005)

Van Gogh is the most popular rock group in Serbia and Montenegro. They had big concert in Berane on July 20. Enormous number of young people from Berane, Rozaje, Plav, Andrijevica and Bijelo Polje enjoyed with their popular songs. “Korzo” was full of fans.

Medicine College established in Berane

(June 2005)

Medicine College is three year school connected with Faculty of Medicine in Podgorica. Infrastructure for college – dormitory, offices for administration, laboratories etc. will be ready and wait for first generation of students on September 05, 2005. 

This is an old dream that become reality after 30 years.  The proposal for this school was written by team with Branko Zogovic – famous surgeon in Berane’ hospital. For the last three years there was a strong initiative for establishing of college, especially by the Council of Youth.

Regional Center for Reproductive Health

(April 2005)

On Thursday, April 7, 2005, Montenegro Minister of Health, Miodrag Pavlicic, and Keith Simmons, Mission Director for USAID Serbia and Montenegro, inaugurated the Regional Center for Reproductive Health in Berane Municipality.

Center will improve reproductive health care services available to residents in the region, by promoting a “patient-centered”, “preventive care” approach to reproductive health care. Center will provide reproductive health care services including medical examinations, counseling and referrals related to preventing and solving reproductive health problems; procurement of diagnostic and other equipment for the new facility; training for gynecologists, general practitioners and nurses in the region about patient-centered approaches to delivering reproductive health services; and a public education component to promote reproductive health.

Municipality of Berane implements new treasury management system

(March 2005)

Municipality of Berane was the second one in Montenegro (after Podgorica) in which the treasury management system would be fully implemented. New system will greatly enhance the efficiency and transparency of municipal financial operations, significantly contributing to higher quality better functioning of the local government.

The introduction of the treasury management system is much more than just a computer system. With the adoption of its Decision on the treasury establishing the responsibilities of the municipal financial management staff, the municipality’s procedures for budget execution and recording of all revenues and expenditures, and the establishment of a single treasury account, the Municipality of Berane has created a consolidated, transparent, and effective financial management system.

September 27, 2004 Festival of Adult Education

Third Festival of Adult Education in Montenegro opened in Berane September 27, 2004.

The main fair for north of Montenegro was in Berane. It was chance for organizations who educate adults from Plav, Rozaje, Andrijevica and Berane to show their activities, share programs and experiences etc. Furthermore, it was opportunity for people from north of Montenegro to find which kind of training they can provide for themselves.

It was large number of organizations, enterprises and institutions which displayed on fair: vocational schools from Rozaje – Secondary Vocational School, Berane – Secondary Medicine School, Secondary School “Vukadin Vukadinovic”, Chemistry-Electronic School, Plav – Secondary School “Beco Basic” and Andrijevica – Mixed Secondary School; Center for Nongovernmental Organization Developing from Bijelo Polje, Roma Education Center from Bijelo Polje, Training Center Berane, Employment Agency Berane, Training Center for Wood Processing Berane, Food factory “Gradina Company” from Rozaje (human resources department), Club “AMI” Berane, Health Institute from Podgorica etc. It was serious number of cultural and music events during Festival – Picture exposition “Listen a forest” (Nature museum from Podgorica), Sculpture exposition “For my town with love” (Zoran Milovic), concert of folklore dance, theatre (Club “AMI”), night of literature (book promotion) etc.

Riblja Corba concert

Famous EX YU rock group Riblja Corba had big concert in Berane. The main street was place where lot of fans singed greatest hits – “Dva dinara druze”, “Pogledaj dom svoj andjele”, “Ostani djubre do kraja”....
