From 1967 until the arrival of Jim Kelly in 1986, the Buffalo Bills were on an emotional roller-coaster ride. A series of highs and more often than not, lows. There was excitement, in the 70's Heismon Trophy winner and future NFL Hall of Fame running back, O.J. Simpson provided plenty of that. There was promise, the 1974 team went to the playoffs, the 1980 team coached by Chuck Knox, won the AFC Eastern Division Title, followed by a 1981 team that won the first NFL playoff game in Bills history. Mostly however this era was filled with disappointment and heartache. This era did produce some high quality performers however who should not be overlooked nor forgotten.
