Hillbilly Heaven

~~The Ledgendary..Conway Twitty~~

1933-1993

Conway Twitty was a major music legend with 55 #1 records, including 3 gold records.

In l982, Conway developed a tourist attraction in Nashville, called Twitty City. It was developed with the Country Music fan in mind and it was the location of his home and the homes of his four sons. He spent most of his time visiting with his fans.

Besides being a major music legend, Conway was known as one of the most honest and forthright gentlemen in all ways and was defined to have real "class". He is sadly missed by many, but his memory will go on forever.

Listen to one of his famous songs.

~~Magical Entertainer~~Patsy Cline~~
"Queen of Country Music"

l932-l963

Patsy Cline was noted to be a magical entertainer. The Country music industry lost her at the very early age of 31..It was an untimely death due to an tragic airplane crash in Tennessee in l963.

She was born in Virginia was married twice and had two(2) children. Her memory and music will never be forgotten.

Listen to one of her best known songs.

Sweet Dreams

~~"Music Brings People Togther"~~
~~John Denver~~

1943-1997

John Denver has always been one of my all time favorite singers, next to Elvis. He had an extraordinary singing voice and he took his stage name from his home in Denver, Colorado.

He too had an untimely death, when his experimental airplane, which he was operating, crashed in Monterey, California in 1997. He was only 53.

John was married to Annie, for whom he wrote and recorded, Annie's Song and also to Cassandra. He had 3 children....Zak, Anna Kate and Jesse Belle.

He was a supporter of the President's World Without Hunger Project, National Wildlife Federation, Save the Children, the Cousteau Society, Friends of the Earth and the Human/Dolphin Society. John was an avid photographer. These were just a few of the projects he was involved in.

John Denver was a great humanitarian and is missed by many..

The First Lady of Country Music
~~Tammy Wynette~~

l942-l998

Tammy Wynette was named the First Lady of Country Music because she was the first female artist to have a million dollar selling hit, Stand By Your Man, in l968.

She was born in Mississippi in l942 and rose from poverty, picking cotton to fame and fortune with her #1 hit, Stand By Your Man.

In l959, Tammy married Euple Bryd, just one month before she graduated from High School. The married produced 4 daughters, Gwen, Jackie, Tina and Denise, but the married ended in l965. She then moved to Alabama, where she became a beautician, to raise her daughters. Then in l967 she married Don Chapel and divorced him in l968. In l969 she married George Jones and they had a daughter, Georgette..that marriage ended in l975. In l976 she married Michael Tomlin and that marriage ended the same year. And finally in l978, she married George Richey, her fifth husband, who later became her manager..Tammy was married to Richey until her death on Apri 6, l998. She died in her sleep of a blood clot.

Tammy's voice and the distinct way she delivered a song made her the lead in most duets. Her duet partners included Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn and her ex-hubby, George Jones.

All and all, she was a very "Special Lady", an ultimate survivor, overcoming many obstacles, including stalkers, bad marriages and the Country Music industry dominated by men.I am sure she is missed by fans all around the world.

Please listen to some of her famous songs and some favorites of mine also below:
Stand By Your Man

"The King of Rock and Roll"
~~Elvis Aron Presley

l935-1977

Well my all time favorite was Elvis Aron Presley. He was the son of Vernon and Gladys Presley and was born on January 8, l935 in Tupulo, Mississippi. His twin brother, Jesse Garon, died at birth.

Following graduation, Elvis worked as a truck driver for $1.25 an hour. He was studying to become an electrical repairman, but was side-tracked, when he got into the recording studio at Sun Studios and recorded 2 songs, which started him on his recording and movie career. During his movie career, Elvis made and starred in 33 movies and also appeared on many television shows, the most popular being, the Ed Sullivan Show..In October of l957 Elvis was presented a Gold Record for his song, Love Me Tender on the Ed Sullivan Show. I must add, Elvis recorded over 700 songs..

Then in l957 he was drafted into the Army, where he drove jeeps and trucks for the 3rd Armored Divison..This was located in Germany, where he met Priscilla Beaulieu. Elvis persauded her father to let him date her..She was only 14 at the time and he told her father that he was going to marry her and that he did, in l965. They had one daughter, Lisa Marie, born in l968. The marriage broke up in l973 and he began secluding himself at Graceland, his prize Memphis Estate, which he originally built for his mother. It is sad, but true, Elvis was addicted to heavy drugs and got stoned, passed out in his bathroom and was pronounced dead on August 19, l977..He was only 42 years old.

Hundreds of thousands of fans visit Graceland each year and the King remains alive in the hearts of those that knew him and in the minds of those of us who loved him and his music, which goes on forever.

Please listen to one of the King's beloved insprirational songs...below.
