| Many people use Matt.7:1 in a way that God never intented. What does this verse say: " Judge not, that ye be not judged" Matt. 7:1 To whom is this verse talking to: the Christian family What is the meaning of this verse: First of all we know that it doesn't mean that we can judge a brother and sister in Christ of their inner thought's for only God knows the true mind of man or women. These are the things that we can judge: What does our Lord teaches us about false teaching: In Matt. 7:15 he tells us to be aware of false prophets in v. 17 he tells us we will know them by their fruits or their teaching. When they teach things that are not of God's word or the meaning that God has for his word. How do you know they are wrong by going straight to God's word (the BIBLE) to see what God said. Jesus in Matt. 15:7 is speaking to Religious people in his day. He called them Hypocrites. Why if they were religious people would Christ call them that? Because then as now their were people who claim to be religious, they were not of God then and still today they are not of God. Can religious teaching be wrong? YES Why? FOR OUR LORD TOLD US SO IN HIS WORD. In Matt. 7:9 Jesus tells us that this kind of worship (false religion) was and is done in VAIN. What does this verse mean the worship they did, did them no good because they did not know God and were not his Children. The Bible tells us this about false religion: Matt. 15:9- that it is built upon the teaching and doctrines of man NOT GOD. Matt. 15:4- it tells about blind leaders (preachers,etc.) who leads people to believe what they teach. All are blind to the meaning of God's word. So the lesson here is this: We can judge false religion, false teacher and do it with the commandment of God. There are two ways in this world God or Satan, the right and wrong, good and evil, life or death, God gave us the freedom to choose. Their is only one way to God and it is through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. God's plan of salvation/how to be saved |
