Part 2 GENSIS CH. 1 |
1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. In this verse we begin to see the power of the word of God, what is that Word of God? Let's look at John 1:1-3, then look down at verses 14-15. Who is John talking about here? He was talking about the Son of God. So Jesus was that Word of God, so now we see all three members of the Godhead involved in the creation, In verse one we saw the Father, in verse two we saw God the Holy Spirt moving on the face of the waters, and here we see God the Son bringing light to the world. Now the Sun and the Moon weren't created until the forth day, so where did this light come from? It came from God. God is not limited in what he can do, we think if there is no sun or moon there couldn't be any light because that is the only source of light that we can physically see today, so our thoughs are limited to that, but God is not limited, he doesn't need a sun to have light, he can be the light himself. Look at Rev. 21:23, when those of us who have done his will here on earth get to heaven, we won't need the sun and the moon anymore, God and his Son will be all the light we need. So, here we see light brought into our world by the Word of God or the Son of God, of course this is a physical light we are talking about her, but he is as the later brought spiritual light into our world as well. Look at John 8:12, in a spiritual sense he is our only light the only way we can get out of the darkness of sin. Let's look at what Jesus told Paul in Acts 26:16-18, when we are spirtually in darkness, we are under the power of Satan, but God has made a way for us to get out of that darkness , look at Col. 1:12-14, so if we continue to dwell in darkness, we will remain under the power of Satan and we will eventually spend eternity with him in the fires of hell. 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. Now God takes a look at what he's done so far, not because he doubted that what he had done was good, but perhaps as an example to us that we should look at things we do from day to day to be sure that what we are doing is good. Do we examine the things we do in the light of God's Word, or do we just do things without even thinking about whether it is pleasing to God or not. Then notice that he dosen't take darkness out of the world, but he merely divides it from the light, just as he doesn't make us to live in his spiritual light, but he gives us a choice to live in darkness or in the light, he made man a free moral agent. He doesn't save some and condemn other on a whim, but according to the choices each of us make, he saves those who choose to obey him, and comdemns those who choose not to obey him. Let's us look at II Thes. 1:7-9, we have the choice, to obey or not to obey God. God could have created a world with out darkness at all, and he could have created us as prefect as himself, but he wanted us to obey him of our own free will. If today you are reading this and have not obey the Gospel, you will make that choice today, you will either choose to obey or you will choose not to obey, and as uncertain as life is, it certainly a dangerous think to choose not to obey, it might to your final choice. Look at what Joshua told Israel in Josh. 24:15. Please think about your choice and consider the CONSEQUENCES TODAY. |
