| Jesus as the head of the body or the church Matt. 21:42, Col. 2:19, Eph. 5:23, Col. 1:18 TA Baisden Just as our head or mind tells our physical or earthy body what to do to function correctly, Our Lord Christ Jesus as our head tells us through His word how to function correctly as a child of God. If our Physical body did not listen to our head/mind then our body would not work properly to do the the things it must do. The same thing goes if we don't listen to the Head(Jesus) for our spiritual body(our soul) to work properly. I Cor. 11: 3 Can the head have several bodies and still work right? or can the body have several head and work right? Eph. 1:22-23 The answer is NO, not physically or spiritually. The bible tells us that there is one Head and only one Body (I Cor. 12: 12-14) which is HIS church. It doen't tell us that there are many kinds of bodies or Churches connected to the Head ONLY "ONE". In the world today there are many who claim that "their" Church is one part of the body of Christ. Just as in nature it can not work right and neither does it work right in spiritual matters either. Take a piece of paper and draw a head, which represent Christ now draw many bodies hanging from it, put a names on the bodies of different kinds of Churches you know, does it look right to you? Please think on these things it could cost you your very soul. |
