| If you read in Jeremiah Ch. 36: 1-32, you will find that God told Jeremiah to write a roll(book) and tell Israel and Judah and all Nation's to turn away from their evil ways, so he could forgive their sin's. To also know what things he purposed to do to them if they didn't, with great anger and fury. Jeremiah was shut up(Locked up), so he told Baruch every word the Lord told him and that is what Baruch wrote on the roll. Jeremiah told him to go read it to the people and he did as he was told. Baruch came to the King's house and he read the roll to all the Princes, they were all afraid. They told Baruch that they would tell the King all that was said to them. They went to the King and told him all that was told to them, but left the roll that Baruch left them in another chamber. When the King heard what was said he sent for the roll. When the roll was got, Jehudi began to read it to the King and all the Prince's. After three or four leaves, the King took a knife and cut it and through the roll into the fire that was before them. The word of the Lord then came again to Jeremiah to write another roll and put on it all that was on the first roll and more. The Lord then told Jeremiah to tell King Jehoiakim (Jerm. 36:30-31) that he shall have none of his to sit upon the throne of David. That he would punish him and his seed and servants for their iniquity. Joseph the earthly father of Jesus was a descendant of King Jehoakim through Jeconiah. King Jehoiakim was a descendent of Solomon(David's son). None of Joseph's blood descendant's could claim the throne of David, because of the punishment that was put on Jehoiakim, but God had promised David that one of his seed (II Sam.7:12-13) would reign forever. None of Joseph's "Genetic" children could be the future King of Israel. It seemed impossible to fulfill the promise God gave to David that his seed would reign forever and still keep the punishment given to Jehoiakim. For one man had to be both "Heir" and "Offspring" of David to be King. But with God nothing is "IMPOSSIBLE". God solution was through a virgin birth and the right earthly father for Jesus. Joseph' s line was through Solomon, King David's son. (Heir) Mary's line was through King David's other son Nathan.(Blood) God's promise to Daivd was fulfilled because Mary was Jesus's biological parent, so the virgin birth took care of the bloodline. The Kingship was and inherited right (Just as Abraham was given a inheritance through adoption) Joseph could give it to Jesus and the pushiment would not be on Jesus for Joseph was not Jesus's biological parent. Joseph was not only a Godly man and the one God trusted to raise his only son, he also had another part in God's plans, bigger then what most people know and that was to fulfill God's promise to David that his seed would reign forever and that seed was Christ Jesus. Thank God for always keeping his promise's. Remember through Christ anyone who will come to him and except him as their Lord and Savior through the plan of salvation is giving a new birth and a hope of heaven by doing what Christ told us in his Gospel we must do.
