| SUMMARY OF ROMANS CHAPTER 2 |

| In the second chapter of the Book of Romans, Paul is speaking to the Jewish people. I believe by using the term "O man" when he is addressing them, he is reminding them that they were created by God and they as well as all mankind are accountable to God. They were starting to believe they did not have to account for there actions or recognize the sins they were committing because they were God's chosen people. They believe themselves to be better than everyone else and no matter what they did, God would alway forgive them for it. Paul speaking on the circumcision under the old law, the Jews where commanded to do this because of a covenant God made with Abraham, this circumcision was the physical act and this show an outward sign that they were God's children. The ACT it speaks of for all people in the New Testament is a spiritual circumcision, that to be God's children now we need no physical sign, we know now by our heart, mind, conscience, and by following the gospel to be our Father chidren today. The Jews judged others and condemning them for the same acts of sins that they themselves were committing. Paul also was saying that God will repay us for what ever deeds we do good or bad and we will have earned the judgement we receive. At the end of time every person born in this world (except Christ) will be judge, no matter who we are, where we come from, our bloodline or what station in life we hold in this world, for we are all EQUAL in God's eyes. Gentiles and Jew's alike sin. Paul is telling us that even now God has great patience's toward sinners today, but one day all people with sin will know God's mighty wrath. Paul is also saying to them and us now that anyone choosing to live under the law of Moses after Christ came and arose, that you do it with out God's blessing. In other words it is a SIN to follow the old ways and not Christ. All things are revealed in the Gospel of Christ and the only way to our Father now is through Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. By someone teaching people God's way and not following or doing what we teach ourself, we dishonor God and the teaching Christ left us. That under the old law the Jew's had super natural revelations(like parting the Red Sea) from God to show his mighty powers. Today men and women have no other way but by nature(our conscience) with which we believe, it is called faith, this faith has us follow the plan of salvation and living a Christian life through God's word, that mean your heart, mind and spirit tells you what is right and wrong. Once you become one of God's children "a Christian" the Holy Spirit that God sent through Christ Jesus's name help's guide and direct's us and comfort us in God's word if we are willing to open are eyes and ears to hear him, remember the choice is left up to us if we do or not.. |
