Hatred: miseo- to hate is used especially of malicious and unjustifiable feelings towards others, whither towards the innocent ot by mutual animosity. Emulations: zelos- jealousy, envy Rom: 13:13-14, I Cor. 3:1-10 Wrath: thumos- hot anger, passion Luke 4:28-30 Strife: erithia- ambition, self seeking, rivarly, seeking to win followers. II Cor 12:19-21 We are to prefer one another rather then serve our own agenda. Romans: 12:10, Philippians 3:17-19 Seditions: dichostasia- a standing apart, dissension, division. Romans: 16:17-18, I Cor. 1:10-11 Heresies: hairesis- that which is chosen an opinion especially a self-willed opinion, which is substituted for submission to the power of truth, and leads to division and the formation of sects. II Peter 2: 1-3. I Cor. 11:17-21 Envyings: phthonos- the feeling of displeasure produced by witnessing or hearing of the advantage or prosperity of others. Matt. 27: 15-20, I Peter 2:1-3 Murders: phonos- slaughter Matt 19:18-24, Gensis 4:1-8, II Sam. 12:1-7 Drunkness: methe- Habitual Intoxication Luke 21:34-36, Romans 6:1-6 Adultery: moicheuo- denotes on who has unlawful intercourse with spouse of another. Matt. 5:27-28 Fornication: porneia- illicit(unlawful) intercourse Stands for, or includes, adultery in Matt. 19:19 It is so terrible in God's eyes that it is the only thing other then death that can break the bonds of marriage. Uncleanness: akatharsia- unclean, impure, phycial and moral uncleanness. Matt. 23: 25-28 Lasciviousness: aselgia- absence of restraint, indecency, wantonness. Mark 7: 20-23 And he said, "That which commeth out of the man, that defileth the man. For from with in, out of the heart of men, proceccd evil thoughts, adulteries, fornication, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedsness, deceit, lasciviousness, and evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and defile a man or women. Idolatry: eidololatria- traced to lack of acknowledgment of God and of gratitude to him. An idolater is a slave to the depraved ideas his idols represent. Galatians 4: 8-9 Witchcraft: pharmakia- primarily signified the use of medicine, drugs, spells, The use of drugs, whether simple or potent was generally accompanied by incantation and appeals to occult powers with the provision of various charms, amulets, etc., professedly designed to keep the applicant with the mysterious resources and powers of the sorcerer.
