| Why haven't I heard of this guy before? I found this blues morsel on broadcast.com. Soulful vocals in a late 60's/early 70's R&B style with a Stax flavor, complimented by tasteful Buddy Guy/Albert King/ BB King tinged leads and fills. Smooth, in-the-pocket rhythm guitar; fantastic horn arrangement; Green Bullet harmonica; and sublime background piano & organ, The production is first rate. | Percy's recording career dates back to the 1960's, when he formed his own 45's label, PLS Records. In 1991 he began his association with Blue Loon Records, which resulted in the critically acclaimed CD...... A Good Woman Is Hard To Find. Percy's follow-up CD, The Highway Is My Home, was released on Black Magic (Netherlands). This was followed by recordings for JSP (England) and Black and Tan (Belgium). Percy Strother passed away on May 29, 2005 following a courageous battle with liver cancer. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
