FOR HARMONY TO YOUR CENTRE OF INFLUENCE
Simply,  Feng Shui is the placement of particular things and use of colour in our home, office, or surroundings - to bring harmony, energy, peace, health, luck, happiness, prosperity etc to our centre of influence.
Feng Shui literally means wind and water and aims to increase harmony by balancing and enhancing our environment. We acknowledge the power of the natural world and live in harmony with it - our natural environment is alive with hidden forces.
At either door your welcome
Come sit with me a spell
We'll talk about the weather
No secrets I will tell

I'll listen to your sorrows
I'll try to give you peace
You always will be happy
Just make this your retreat.
My doors are always open
My heart is always there
No matter what your problem
Believe me I will care

If you want to chat awhile
Have nothing else to do
Come over I'll be happy
I'll take good care of you.
Kettle whistles daily
The water's piping hot
Tea I make delicious
It truly hits the spot.

So come on don't be bashful
You're nice to have around
Glad that you could stop by
With friendship hearts are bound.

So now you are settled, come sit a spell, with cuppa in hand.

WELCOME  to my pages of easy to follow Feng Shui cures.  Some basic Feng Shui ideas simply explained for your fun and entertainment.
Keep an open mind and value your intuition.
While Im no expert, I have used, and do use, these sample suggestions in my home and surroundings and believe they are suitable for north & south hemispheres.
Animals and pets are very good Feng Shui.  Clutter stops the arrival of good fortune.  Clear away anything you no longer use or are saving for a rainy day -- then your interior of house or office, looks clear and spacious, expect a change for the better
To give out harmonious energy, pale pastel colours radiate the best Feng Shui.

In warm climates look for pale green, turquoise, blue, lavendar, and cream is better than white.

If you have an all-white home - add splashes of red, or other bright colour selections.

In cool climates choose pale peach, apricot, terracotta, lemon, yellow, or pink tones to make rooms cheerful.
There are 9 basic cures or remedies to enhance energy

* bright or light refracting objects - mirror, crystal, lamps
* sounds - wind chimes, bells, running water, birdsong, music, humming insects
* living objects - plants, bonsai, flowers (real or silk), fishbowl/aquarium
* moving objects - mobile, windmill, fountain, flag, weathervane, grandfather clock, bunting , moving lights
* heavy objects - stones, statues, large wooden screens
* electrically powered objects - air conditioner, stereo, TV, computer
* bamboo flutes - which must be hung with mouthpieces facing down, hand fans
* colours
* others  - for example, just a few  ..
hanging red ribbons on doors with knocking knobs,
using a fringe to hide and resolve slanted beams in house, and placing 9 pieces  of chalk in a rice bowl with a little uncooked rice and placing under the bed where your back is to cure backache
.
BA GUA means 8 sides and is a technique used to transform and enrich our life.  Feng Shui says you can use this symbol to improve your future by adding celestial cures at the correct places in a room.
Each side of BA GUA has a life treasure - wisdom/knowledge, family/health, prosperity, fame, marriage/relationships, children, helpful people and career.
In left hand corner from main entrance is Knowledge/Wisdom, middle of wall on left is Family, then in left corner diagonally from entrance is Wealth/Prosperity.  Middle of wall opposite entrance is Fame/Occupation, right hand corner diagonally across from entrance is Marriage/Relationships. Middle of right hand wall is Children/Creativity, and to far right hand corner from entrance is Helpful People. In middle of wall of main door/entrance is the life treasure Career.
Ba GUA looks like this -- wherever main door is then the immediate left hand corner is *Wisdom/Knowledge*

                                      FAME

WEALTH                                                   MARRIAGE

FAMILY                                                    CHILDREN/Creativity

WISDOM/Knowledge                                  HELPFUL PEOPLE
                                     CAREER
                                     (main door)

COLOURS to suit BA GUA area go like this :

WISDOM  -    green and black
FAMILY/HEALTH -  black  red  green
PROSPERITY -  red  green
FAME -  yellow  red  green
MARRIAGE  -  red  white
CHILDREN -  black  white  lemon/yellow
HELPFUL PEOPLE -  black and white
CAREER -  black   green   white
As well as the 9 celestial cures, there are 5 elements to use

WOOD   FIRE   EARTH   METAL   WATER

Suggested improvements using elements and associated colours --

** WOOD - GREEN - introduce more plants, wooden features or objects made from wood, or wooden products, such as paper.

** FIRE - RED - introduce more warm colours, fabrics, light or heating.

** EARTH - YELLOW -  introduce more plants or earthy colours in paint and fabrics.

** METAL - WHITE - introduce metallic objects such as furniture, vases or candlesticks, glass topped table

** WATER - BLACK - introduce water itself or objects that have a yin quality, such as soft fabrics and subdued lighting.

Adding greenery to certain spots of the room will help the harmony.
Introducing wood for some elements is a good idea.  This room has light, a chandelier, wooden table, and candlesticks on the table.
Suggestions for life treasure spots in the BA GUA --

WISDOM area -- choose something that appeals to you in both green and black.

FAMILY area - hang flutes on the wall mouthpieces pointed downwards, and tied together with ribbons in red, green and black.  OR  place a goldfish bowl there.
Try a red and a green candle on a black dish. Perhaps a vase that is red/green/black with flowers.

PROSPERITY - place a round leaf plant (chinese jade or maranta perhaps) in a red pot there. Place some gold coins in a red envelope or wrapped in red paper and place on something green.  (I put a red phone sitting on a green ceramic tile in one room).  Also a piano in this area is good Feng Shui.

FAME or OCCUPATION - perhaps use a red/yellow/green lamp here.  A photo in a frame of a mix of the colours with the 3rd colour in an item nearby.  Picture of yourself in a yellow outfit in a green frame, with a red vase nearby could be used.
If you are in marketing, wrap a sample of your products in the cosmic colours and tie with matching ribbons.

MARRIAGE/RELATIONSHIPS - a pair of mandarin ducks could be placed in this area.   Another suggestion is to place a red candle on a white dish OR have a wedding photo or picture of a loved one in  a red and white frame.  Maybe a white or red frame with a red or white ribbons sitting nearby.  Red open fan with a white ribbon.  White lace open fan with a red tassle.

CHILDREN - something that appeals with a combination of gold (yellow), black and white could suit this area.

HELPFUL PEOPLE/TRAVEL - something you like in black and white.  Black phone with white phone message pad with black/white pen nearby.  Use your imagination.
I have a pair of black and white ceramic cows in my area (given to me by a special friends many years ago).  Perhaps black and white coffee mugs, or a nice ornament or people sitting on some black fabric or plate. Depends on what part of your room this situation area is in.

CAREER - you need something with colours of green, white and black.  As I enjoy genealogy, in this spot I have sitting a white coffee mug with a green/black Clan emblem and surname on side.  Place a small dark green box wrapped with black and white ribbon for another idea.

When checking your BA GUA, if rooms are odd shaped, place a crystal or small mirror on edge of the missing section, then better the ba gua area by adding a "cure" or colour/element nearby.  If you have more than one entrance to a room strengthen any ba gua position with an extra cure of a windchime, green plant, silk flower, goldfish, or crystal.  Instinct guides you to a good feeling.
Black and red cushions added with green pot plant nearby is a good "cure" for family area, just utilising furniture in home. (right). and above - adding a yellow cushion or drapping a yellow shawl on a seat can be a "cure" for any section that needs gold or yellow.
IN YOUR WORK PLACE.

the best place for your office desk is diagonally across from the door so you face the entrance. This is the dragon desk and commands power and authority.  Never sit with your back to the door and keep mess to a minimum by putting files away out of sight.
Keep a crystal paperweight on your desk, or a bowl of flowers, or an evergreen plant - maybe a desk lamp, or a small goldfish bowl.
Keeping a rooster feather in the drawer gives your career a boost.
Sometimes you have no control over the office layout, but if energy is tired, or the office politics a bit heavy, then keep a small round mirror in your desk drawer, along with the above remedies.

If your office deals in money, have a painting on the wall of a water view - river, lake or sea.
If your office is in education have a landscape in soft colours.
If you are in a government office, ang a bright painting of waterlilies, or flowers with large blooms.
If you are in a legal office - try paintings of nice birds.

If its possible, perhaps you could place small blocks under the legs of your desk to bring it an inch or two, above the others - good feng shui!

Does your office feel lifeless?  --  add a green plant and see the difference.  A Spider Plant is good near computers and office machinery for absorbing up the electronic smog.  A crystal also helps.
Fish tanks are lucky in any shape, but round, curved or octagonal are luckiest.

For general protection from the black tortoise house spirit, keep a tortoise statue near the back of your house.
"OTHER" celestial cures.........

It is better not to have dried flowers near room entrances or near the front door.
If you love them though, place them in a crystal vase or have a crystal nearby, or place a silk ribbon around them.  Silk flowers, from a natural fibre, are a good choice.  Plastic flowers are not good Feng Shui.

If you live near a busy road, put a small fountain in your garden between the road and the house.
If a neighbours home is higher than yours put a fountain between the 2 houses.  This helps transform the qi life energy.  If not a fountain, then 2 flag poles taller than your house will help.  Wooden flutes hung mouth piece down (and
tied with red ribbons) just inside the front door is a cure too.
If your bed is positioned so your feet face the bedroom door space, that is called the "coffin position".  To change the energy, hang a crystal or windchime between door and bed OR try to have the bed diagonally opposite your main bedroom door.
Once bed is in the "emperor position", sleep will be smooth and tranquil.  Bedrooms have more harmonious energy with the addition of an extra lamp with a peach or pink shade cover.

A bathroom facing a bedroom emits bad energy - hang a crystal between the bedroom and the bed OR put a small round mirror on the bathroom door .

Sparkling clear quartz crystals are used to improve energy flows - they can hang in windows or from theceiling or doorway to reflect lights.  They are convenient to correct an imbalance.
Lights are good Feng  Shui cures - use them around the home.

A home with a central hallway often divides the residents into 2 hostile camps.  Hang a windchime halfway along the hall to increase harmony.

If you live in a high block apartment facing a staircase, hang a mirror inside your entrance so it can reflect back the disturbing energy from the stair case.

If you sit with your back to a door, you lose power - give this seat to a pushy salesman.
Hang a small chandelier over a dining room table to help reduce arguments - it combines 2 celestial cures, that of a crystal and of lights.

An oval or round table is much better to use for harmony, than a square one.

Do you feel more energised in one room over another?  If a room makes you feel drained and uneasy, a few celestial cures may help bring harmony back

Windchimes, as distinct from "mobiles" must have hollow tubes to be effective.
Many people like an all-white garden, but it indicates mourning and is not lucky feng shui so add some pastel or bright flowers for better harmony.

Water features and wooden benches give a balance of harmony to surroundings.
Sloping ceilings are bad Feng Shui, so hang a windchime at lowest point of the slope to disperse the qi life energy.

Exposed beams in your home is not good Feng Shui - these can cause the occupants sitting or sleeping beneath them to have headaches, quarrel or be tense.  Hang a silky red tassel from each beam to bring on the "cure".  You may need a few depending on room
size.  Hang some flutes (mouth piece facing down) tied with red ribbons along the beams OR sit a quartz crystal on top of the beams.
If beams are in dining room, make sure they run parallel with table not across it, and use a celestial cure of a chandelier or candles, as well as tassles, flutes or crystal.
Many homes have the kitchen designed where the stove placement means the cook has her back to the door - not good!!  To correct the energy flow hang a windchime or crystal between the stove and the kitchen door.

Did you know that outside doors symbolise parents mouths and windows the mouths of children.  If by ratio, you have more windows than doors, 3 to 1, then you may have children not respecting their elders.  The cure is to hang a small silver bell or windchime of bells near the front door.  The bell sounds is good Feng Shui.

If you have to present a speech and are nervous - try this.
Wear something in a turquoise colour near the throat.  Perhaps a necklace of turquoise gemstones, OR a silk scarf in turquoise colour OR even an outfit in this colour.
Visit the place where the speech will be presented, a few days earlier, to reduce "fear of unknown places" -- helps to reduce butterflies!
