Introducing the Family-Friendly Sites Program
Freedom of speech is an extremely important right of all citizens.
However, all citizens also have a right to live without being molested verbally, visually, emotionally or physically. While some proponents of absolute and total freedom of speech place that right above seemingly all other citizen rights, we are not here to make judgement on that opinion. In fact, we understand the reasons why many feel so strongly about freedom of speech in light of abuses by many past and present governments. The purpose of this site is simply to offer a clear indication via FFS emblems of places on the Internet that voluntarily abide by guidelines of conduct as outlined.
VH1 music channel has founded an innovative, non-profit initiative called Save The Music. The Save the Music program is dedicated to restoring music education to America's public schools, and raising awareness of scientific research proving that music education dramatically improves students' overall performance. Save the Music has enlisted numerous public organizations, government officials, and popular musical artists such as Celine Dion, Jon Bon Jovi, Sting, Cheryl Crow, and Shania Twain to deliver the message that our music eduction programs must be preserved. The Web Interoperability Pledge (WIP) is a promise to adhere to current HTML standards as promulgated by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Although it seems deceptively simple, it is a powerful way to convince vendors to adhere to open standards. By pledging to support only official standards, users take away the incentive for vendors to cheat by introducing proprietary extensions.
After all the whole Idea of the web is to share ideas and information.
The 800 x 600 256 Colors Idea is an excellent way to continue the process. It is much quicker faster and more sensible to make sure that the maximum number of people who come to each web site are able to view it with ease. Too many colors, too high a resolution is not a good thing.
You should gently remind everyone of this as you surf and find the extremes. Thanks!!

RSACi was created as a way of rating on the Internet, to provide a simple, yet effective system for web sites which both protected children and protected the rights of free speech of everyone who publishes on the World Wide Web. It is now known as ICRA the Internet Content Rating Authority.
