About Me
Wow!
What can I say?
I think I am, no, I know I am a great guy!!!
Just kidding, I am probably your
average, husband, father of two, kind of guy.
You know the type, madly in love with his wife.
Loving, caring father.
Trying to make some order out of this mess we all call living.
My hobbies are mainly hunting
of any kind.
Shotgun hunting being the preference.
With my interest in hunting, geese, ducks and grouse, came of course interest in dogs.
Retrieving dogs being my favorite.
Our canine family member is a mixed breed of, Labrador (3/4) and Golden (1/4) retrievers.
She is a good companion and helpful while hunting.
I am also known to do a litle sea-angling.
Last but not the least I am a keen Puffin hunter.
Where I live we  have been hunting this type of bird, probably from the beginning of settlement. We have used a thing called "Hafur" from about 1875.
This "Hafur" is a long pole, now made of fiber, with a net attached to its end (see picture).
Hunting is done between 1st of july until 15th of august and you have to have a permit.
By the way, I live in Iceland, on an island of the south coast.
Its name is Heimaey, the largest of the group Vestmannaeyjar, in english; Westman-islands.
My name is Bjorgolfur Ingason.
Surtsey in its infant stage.
My wife, and best friend
Sigrun Jenny
Yours truly.
In my part of the world we have active volcanoes.  An underwater eruption took place 1963 just south of Vestmannaeyjar.
Surtsey (Surt-island) was "born" 1963.
I believe this picture was on the cover of Time, it shows how the pillar of smoke worked like a magnet drawing lightning unto itself.
On the far right is Álsey and in the
middle is another island, Brandur.
The eruption finally ended in 1967.
My son,
Sigfinnur Ingi.
My daughter,
Jakobina Ros.
Mossberg pump-shotgun,
similar to my first gun.
Same type of semi automatic
shotgun as is my primary gun  today,Benelli-Centro.
My hometown on Heimaey 1973,
not a pretty sight
This is our hunting companion,
the retrieving lady "Assa".
Another in 1973 on Heimaey, resulting in the destruction of a large part of my hometown.
The forces of nature  can be seen, working,  through the eyes of the photgraphers.
Puffin (Fratercula Artica) flying.
A map of Heimaey and also a link to a site loaded with pictures and stuff about my hometown and its surroundings, alas it is in icelandic (so good luck understanding the language :-) you will probl. need it).
A really helpful site if you are
planning a trip or searching
for information about Iceland
