I had gotten a very cordial and prompt reply on...

"Hi Brian,"
"Your engine is not a Stationary "Toy" Steam Engine like most in my
collection. I would call it a "Model" Engine.
I have a few reference materials I went thru that have some of those and
found it, but no name or date of MFG. I think it does mean that it is
not a handmade one of a kind and you still may find out more about who,
when, and where it was built."

"This engine sold at the Owls Head Auction in June 1997 for $1,500. This
really does not mean you could get that for it beacuse at that auction,
one guy bought about 80% of all Steam Engines and outbid most people.
He spent near $500,000 on steam Engines.
I go to the Florida Flywheeler Meeting where they have gas engines and
tractors. I find lots of neat stuff to look at and sometimes to buy at
these meets."

         Please note:
This is a copy of the response to my inquiry.
I think I have my quotations in the right place.
Also the reference to "This engine" in this response
is not the engine you have viewed I dont have $1,500.00 !!!

                      Thanks again Robin
