For those of you who may not know, Eric Brewer is a defenceman for the Edmonton Oilers. My name is Karen, and I am a huge Oilers' fan. **NEWS** Sept.12 2002 The Edmonton Oilers re-signed Eric Brewer to a two year, $4 million U.S. contract More on the deal... Sept.11 2002 Hello! I hope that everyone had a great summer! WOOHOO!The hockey season is near with training camp starting on Friday. I hope that you all are as excited as I am about this year's season and team. Since I am in my first year at the U of A this year, chances are that I'll be very busy so it might be a little tough to keep this site updated. I will try my best. May 7, 2002 Team Canada was eliminated from the World Hockey Championships as they lost 3-2 to Slovakia in the quarterfinal game. Oh well, better luck next year. Apr. 27, 2002 Team Canada wins 4-1 over Latvia. Brewer scored one goal and was named Player of the Game. Brew turns 23 today! Apr. 15, 2002 Eric Brewer has accepted his invitation to play for Team Canada at the World Hockey Championships in Sweden (Apr 28-May 11). Joining him in representing Canada will be his Oiler teammates, Ryan Smyth, Mike Comrie, and Dan Cleary (so far).GO CANADA! Bring home another gold! Apr. 14, 2002 Oilers season comes to end. Their playoff hopes were crushed after a 2-0 defeat by Calgary in game 81. They ended their season with 92 pts, good for 9th place in the Western Conference and 15th overall. Thanks for the great entertainment Oilers! Look foward to next season! Feb. 24, 2002 CANADA WINS OLYMPIC GOLD! Congratulations to Brewer and Team Canada in winning Olympic gold! (in a 5-2 win over the USA) Brewer had 2 goals in the tournament. AND also congrats to the Women's team! Also winning gold!
